Greetings,

On behalf of Region 6 - I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mihai

Brestyan and Aly Raisman. Mihai and THE FINAL FIVE will be inducted into the

2017 USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame on August 19th in Anaheim, CA. Region 6 is

proud of your accomplishments and contributions to the sport of gymnastics. Con-

gratulations on this well-deserved honor.

I would like to welcome Jamie Winkler [NY] and Gail Caspare [NY] to the Region 6

Administrative Committee. Jamie was elected to the position of Regional Junior

Olympic Committee Chairman and Gail was elected to the position of Regional

XCEL Committee Chairman. The membership would like to thank outgoing chair-

men Larry Goldsmith [RJOCC] and Dave Auger [RXCC] for their commitment and

dedication to Region 6 gymnastics.

Don’t forget – 2017 Region 6 Congress will be held August 4 – 6 in Providence, RI.

Larry Goldsmith has served as the Region 6 J.O. Chairman for over 20 years. Larry was elected tothe committee in 1995. He made a personal decision to 'not run' for re-election in 2017. Thank youLarry for your commitment to the Region 6 athletes; coaches and officials.

NEGX is pleased to announce:Sarah Mellen from Broderick’s Gymnastics won $1,000. Her essay spoke to inspiring others to live"below the line". She challenged her friends to live on $2.00 a day. In 5 days she raised $1000 to buytoiletries for the needy.

Amy Shen from MGC Waltham [Masstars] won $500.00. Within her school she influenced a recyclingcampaign. She will study environmental engineering in hopes to impact the worlds ecosystems.
