ACHIEVEMENT ASSEMBLYHere are our achievers for this week - well done!

3O’C CLASS ASSEMBLY3O’C sung with vigour and enthusiasm as they performed their class assembly this morning. It was an opportunity for them to showcase all of their learning from across the year and they thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Henry S. “Loved the Education song because,” he explained “ we sung loudly and we knew all the words and actions – it was so much fun!” Milly thought it was an “Excellent assembly,” and Evie observed that, “The songs went really well because we all knew the actions and we all knew what we were doing!” It was a happy, tinged with sadness (as they move onto year four), look back at a year that seems to have whizzed by but has been jam packed full with learning. I am so proud of all they have achieved and their passionate and lively performance.

REQUESTSPlease make sure your contact details are up to date both in our contact book in the office and also on Parentmail.

If your child has a FOOD ALLERGY please can you fill out the form attached for Radish Catering and hand it into the office.

Does anyone have any spare wool or thread at home that they could donate to our art cupboard, as supplies are running very low. Many thanks.

Our new ‘BUDDY’ SHED is due for delivery in the next couple of weeks, however, the company has requested it be built on concrete or concrete slabs. Should any of our parents be in the building trade and able to offer to supply the materials and/or build the base for us (free of charge) we would be extremely grateful.

A MESSAGE FROM TURING HOUSE SCHOOLTuring House School’s permanent site planning committee hearing will be held next WEDNESDAY, 10TH JULY, at 7pm at York House in Twickenham. Planning officers are recommending approval of the plans. At this meeting, a panel of local councillors will consider all of the evidence and make a decision on whether to accept their recommendations. This is a very important meeting for our school’s future. We are very grateful for all the support we have received from the community so far and really hope that as many parents, students and friends of Turing House as possible will come along to demonstrate your support for the school. You can let our Parents Action Group know you are coming by emailing [email protected] – it would be helpful to know rough numbers - or please just show up on the night at York House in plenty of time to get a seat. The important thing is that as many supporters attend as possible.

NEW PUPIL PARLIAMENTREPRESENTATIVESWe are delighted to present our two new Pupil Parliament representatives for the academic year, 2019-2020. Children from year 5 presented their speeches on Monday to years 2-6. Gabriel(5I) and Elodie (5C) were both elected by the school as the two most suitable candidates for Pupil Parliament. We are delighted for them and hope they enjoy the opportunity next year.

On Monday I performed my speech to the school. I was a bit nervous to start with but my speech went well. I am really happy that I was voted in! I’m looking forward to going to York House in October. Elodie

Last Monday I was over the moon to be voted for Pupil Parliament. Our speeches were whether 16 year olds should vote for their future. I am excited to represent my school at York House and join in on all of the fun activities on the action day. Gabriel

Year 3 & 4 LDBS Athletics Festival

On Friday 5th July, eight children from Year 2 took part in a basketball tournament at Lowther Primary School. The children had a wonderful morning in the sunshine playing basketball and worked brilliantly as a team. They should all be extremely proud of themselves!
