Date: Week 6—22nd May 2015 What a week to end our half term. It’s been such a busy half term and this week has been no different—with trips, visi- tors, assessments, sports competitions—it’s been all go! Of course many of you will have heard about the councils pro- posals to change children’s centre services all across Barnsley including here at Rising Stars. If you haven’t yet completed the councils survey, please do so. You can find a link on our Facebook page. The support for the centre shown by the whole community over the past week has been truly amazing and we are all so very grateful to you all for getting involved and for your efforts to support the centre. The consultation will be open until Friday 26th June so there is still plenty of time to have your say. If you are concerned about the pro- posals or would like more information on what they might mean for you or your family please call in to see me at any time. I hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend and a great half term! Blogging Workshop Thank you to all the parents and children who attended our blogging workshop on Thursday afternoon. Hope to see some of you winning ‘Parent Blogger of The Week’ after the half term break. An extra spe- cial thank you goes to the e-cadets and Mrs Harris, Mrs Chambers and Mel for all their hard work and preparation over the last week. They did a great job and every- one loved the delicious cakes too! Maths is Magic Brand new Maths is Magic will be starting after half term. Come along and find out more about how your child learns in school and how you can support them at home. See Lisa for more infor- mation or to book a place.

  • Fabulous Fencing

As part of their castles topic Y2 have

been learning to Fence. The lesson

was absolutely fantastic and they had

to really stretch their imitation learn-

ing muscles to learn the correct tech-

nique. They were so absorbed and did

    some fabulous fencing. Y3, Y4 and Y6

    also had a go.
