The national data collection on students with disability acknowledges the work already undertaken in your school to support students with disability. It assists schools to identify and to support students with disability, so they can access and participate in education on the same basis as their peers. The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability provides Australian schools, parents, education authorities and the community with vital information about the number of students with disability in Australian schools, where they are located and the nature of the adjustments they receive. This information enables the government to plan appropriate funding, policies and strategies. The national data collection on students with disability also reinforces the existing obligations schools have towards students under the Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Disability Standards for Education 2005. NCCD project counts the number of students who are supported under these obligations based on the professional judgement of teachers and their understanding and knowledge of their students. Data regarding a number of students (those with a current Individual Plan and/or a Health Care Plan/Alert) at this campus will be relevant to this collection process. The data collected will remain at the school and student privacy is assured in the event of an audit. Further information has been sent home to families that could be included in the data, including information about the option to “opt out” of this process before Wednesday, 16 September. Farewell Year 12 Next Wednesday, 16th September will be an exciting day for our Year 12 students, who will be graduating in a special assembly held at 10am in the Tongarra Hall. All Year 12 students will be presented with their portfolios, and be farewelled by our school community. This will be preceded by an alfresco brunch outside the hall to welcome the Year 12 students and their guests. This will be hosted by Year 10 & Year 11 students. We thank the class coordinators and roll teachers for Year 10 & 11 for organising this function. We wish Year 12 God’s blessing and guidance as they leave their formal schooling and prepare for their HSC exams next term. Please continue to pray that God will encourage and strengthen them during this busy and stressful time. Pray that they will find peace and comfort in the knowledge they are in God’s hands and that they will make wise and godly decisions as they plan for their future lives. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:11 Give thanks for Year 11 and the way they conducted themselves during the exam period.
