J 6 \ \ n C. Churchill, assistant UnitedStates Engineer, retur ned last even-ing from a trip to Panama where hewent all over the great work beingdone by the government in thePan ama Can al Project He sp en tsix days going over the canal work andhas come back thoroughly impressedwith t i e magn i tud e of the greates tengineering feat of this or any othera g e .

WOUJfc MO VE S S LO W LY.M r. Churchill was impressed partic-ularly with the perfection of system

an d organization in the work. Fromthe Atlantic end to the P acific everything moves smoothly, w ithout fric-tion or jar and the thousands ot work-men handle the m illions of dollarsworth of machinery day and nightwithout cessation. He says that theAmerican people have no justj idea ofthe work being done or the manner inwhich it Is dona and they can justlyfeel proud that it is the AmericanGovernment which is doing the work.

While moving along the rou te ofthe canal, Mr. Churchill mtde severalattempts to locate some of the Oswegomen employed in the work but failedto tind any of them. j I
