September 18, 2014 Vol. 3, No. 1 LMS Sports By: Isabel Smart Welcome back LMS! This year is going to be great!  You’ve seen their blue and pink shirts… they have been helping the 6th grad- ers with their lockers… they are the W.E.B. Crew Leaders!  The W.E.B. crew leaders had a fun time with all the 6th graders during orienta- tion. They played games with them in groups and welcomed them to their new school.  There are 36 W.E.B. crew leaders. Wow!  That’s a bunch of kids that are hard work ers! I asked Emily Connelly, one of the W.E.B crew leaders, how it feels being a group leader instead of a 6th grade partici- pant. She said, “ I feel like it’s a better chance to really help and to make the 6th graders’ year as best as I can, and hopefully be better than mine .”  The W.E.B. crew has certainly helped us kick off the school year, but there is a lot more to look forward to. This year, we are go- ing to have an amazing time doing pep ral- lies. There are going to be 4 pep rallies. The faculty will be in the pep rallies doing fun things planned like every year. The cheer- leaders and STARS will also be doing amaz- ing performances for 6th, 7th, and 8th grad- ers to see. Don’t forget about the book fair coming up September 29th - October 3rd. So come on by to see Mrs. Damon and her large col- lection of wonderful books. Also, LMS will be having Open House on September 23rd from 5:30 - 7:00. This is a great time for parents and students to visit with teachers. This will also be when the new BYOD policy will be explained to parents and students. You don’t want to miss it!
