National Insurance Consultants (NICI) is an independent risk management and insurance service firm headquarter in Las Vegas. Our associates are comprised of a diverse team of experts and client advisors with over 80 years of combined experience. Founded by Herman Ross, NICI was established in 1994 with one employee in Las Vegas, Nevada. Today NICI has six offices located in Nevada, Texas, Oregon and Virginia. As a certified Minority Business Enterprise, NICI maintains a growing national client base and is recognized as one of the country’s premier insurance consultants that specializes in customized insurance and risk management for all types of businesses, including the transportation industry.

BENEFITS

We are experienced in both the design and implementation of corporate, non-profit, and individual benefit plans. NICI works directly with the client to establish reasonable goals, objectives, and to identify the range of benefits most suited to the client’s needs. As brokers, our tasks may include the following:

MANAGEMENT

Herman L. Ross, II, CEO/CFO

Mr. Ross has guided NICI since its inception in 1994 and has made key decisions in making the company what it is to date. The management structure of NICI has matured in the 16+ years of the company’s existence. Mr. Ross has a management team in which he has total confidence, as demonstrated with his resignation as President in December of 2003. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors of NICI. With the addition of our Astoria office in 2009, Herman welcomed back one of our original investors and the individual that helped write the first business plan, Ms. Jeanne Windsor. Jeanne is the Vice President of Northwest Operations. The next power move Mr. Ross committed to was the merger and acquisition of Vantage Risk Management, a diverse risk management and securities insurance firm. With that move in May of 2011, NICI increased its sales force and also purchased a book of solid business, which includes new products and services.

Mr. Ross’ responsibilities include management leadership roles by setting strategic goals for growth, expansion, incentives and vision for the company. He sets staff benchmark goals by conducting one-on-one meetings with each team member and management team defining the benchmarks and expectations. Mr. Ross has the amazing ability to motivate and train by his vast knowledge and enthusiasm which goes hand in hand with NICI’s vision. He will oversee the President, COO, and Vice Presidents.

Ms. Antoinette Modrok, President/COO

Ms. Antoinette Modrok began her tenure with NICI as Vice President. Prior to joining the company in 1998, she gained valuable career experience in the financial securities industry that eventually lead her to the second largest health insurance company in Nevada. She has worked in account executive, marketing and administrative management capacities — all of which broadened the breadth of her professional experience. She was a recipient of the Commercial Sales President’s Club Award during her tenure at PacifiCare of Nevada. Antoinette earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with sociology as her major, from the University of California at Los Angeles. She holds a Health and Life Insurance License. Her primary responsibility is the day-to-day administration of the Las Vegas office as well as increase the middle market account base in the Las Vegas market. Ms. Modrok is a valued member of the NICI team, and is highly respected in the Las Vegas insurance community. Ms. Modrok has been a shareholder of NICI since 2001. In 2003, Antoinette was named President of NICI.

Ms. Modrok leads the day-to-day tactical/functional operations of practice, monitors team adherence to all federal, state and local rules and regulations, leads client experience support, sets goals, monitors work, and evaluates results to ensure that departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the organization.

Ms. Katrina Simkins, Senior Vice-President

Katrina joined NICI in May of 2011 after merger and acquisition of VRM. Mrs. Simkins is a licensed, FINRA Series 7 (General Securities (Stockbroker) representative), Series 66 (Registered Investment Advisor), Life, Health and Annuities, Property and Casualty Consultant/Agent. She has over (10) years of leadership experience and training in the Financial, Investment, Personal and Commercial Lines insurance industry. Her area of expertise consists of risk management, OCIP wrap up projects, bonds, claim management and account oversight of Property & Casualty and risk management consulting for the Public and Private sector.

Katrina will be responsible for identifying and lead new business development opportunities and also ensure highly productive relationships and partnerships for the benefit of the organization. She will actively seek out opportunities for investment, revenue generation and strategic partnerships.

Katrina is active member of many business-focused trade associations and advocates to improve the business climate for contractors and other minority, women & small businesses operating in the Washington, DC metro region and beyond. She volunteers her time as an expert speaker and advisor to organizations that assist veteran, minority and small businesses who seek to do business with federal, state and local government agencies

Jeanne L. Windsor, Vice-President of Operations – Northwest

Jeanne joined NICI, which operates as National Insurance Consultants Inc. dba National Insurance Services in the state of Oregon, in 2009. As one of the original founding members of NICI’s Board of Directors, she was instrumental in helping to establish the company. She worked closely with Mr. Ross to write the first business plan for NICI and watched from the Northwest as NICI’s vision became reality. Ms. Windsor moved to the Northwest in 1997 when her son began high school. As an entrepreneur and business developer, Jeanne became very involved in the area, building strategic alliances and setting a foundation for future growth for NICI. She currently sits on three non-profit boards using her talents to strengthen community ties. Her background includes Vice Presidency of a National Software Development Company, Ownership of Publishing Company and she currently is contracted by Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Oregon and by Teevin Bros. Land and Timber in Knappa, Oregon for business development. Ms. Windsor oversees the operations for NICI in the Northwest. Over the years she has concentrated her studies in a wide range of business subjects. She holds a Property and Casualty and a Life and Health license in the State of Oregon.
