Financial InformationIn March 31, 2011, Nissin posted sales of 374,932 million Yen, or $4,509 million for the last year

This is an increase of 1.0% from the year before that

Shares at that time for the company totaled $2.26 million

Despite the earthquake on March 11, 2011, Nissin served two million cup noodle products to displaced people in Japan. Nissin only lost $12 million due to the disaster.

Safety InformationNissin has its own food safety institute, established in 2002.

They have developed and implemented a system called NASRAD-600 which analyzes trace chemicals

Branding Around the WorldOne division, Myojo foods, sells a product called Myojo Charumera. They recently introduced large-capacity cup-type instant noodles in tall packages.

Nissin Chilled Foods sells chilled noodles. The net income for that brand was $618 million.

In North America, the top-selling products were Top Ramen, Chow Mein, Bowl Noodles, and Souper Meal. Nonetheless, the sales declined.

In China, total sales were lower than in North America, but profits had increased. Premium-priced products, such as Nissin La Wang, increased.

Environmental OutreachIn 1999, Nissin foods created the Environmental Charter. It has implemented environmentally friendly policies to increase sustainability. Nissin has also obtained 14001 certification at 25 business sites in Japan.

From 2006-2011, Nissin has reduced CO2 emissions by 16%.

Social OutreachIn 2010, Nissin had three main social initiatives – the Living with Hot Water Project, Support for Employee Volunteerism Project, and the Dietary Education and Running Instruction Project.

The Hot Water Project features an interactive website showing people how to reduce global warming emissions from boiling hot water by 60%. It does this in a few simple steps.

The Employee Volunteerism Project encourages employees to take up social volunteering activities.

The Dietary and Running Instruction Project involves employees visiting primary schools to discuss good food choices and proper running form with the students.

Ever since the 2011 earthquake, Nissin is creating a system to respond to future disasters.
