John Rivers’ diverse career experience spans two decades and ranges from managing a
billion-dollar pharmaceutical distribution operation, to opening one of the fastest growing
new restaurants in the Southeast with his Texas-inspired 4 Rivers Smokehouses in Winter
Park, Winter Garden, Longwood, East Orlando, Gainesville, and Jacksonville, Florida.
Working from his garage, John’s ministry quickly grew in popularity, prompting the bottling
of his 4 Rivers (4R) Signature Barbecue Sauce and the ultimate leap of faith to open the first of two 4 Rivers
Smokehouse’s in Winter Park, Fla. (October 2009). Smoking more than 15,000 pounds of meat a week, the
Smokehouse quickly became one of the fastest growing restaurants in Central Florida, serving a line of guests
waiting up to 45 minutes to eat on picnic tables under an outside patio at his 1,350-square-foot restaurant.
Today, 4 Rivers Smokehouse continues the tradition of donating proceeds to local churches and school endeavors,
and is prized for its superb balance of flavors in his 4 Rivers Signature Sauce. The recipe is multi-regional, making it a
perfect fusion of sweet and tangy with a smoky spice finish that you’re sure to enjoy!
Ranked 29 in 2013 on the Orlando Business Journal's "Fast 50", a list comprised of Central Florida's 50
