Dear Mr. Camardo;

The Cayuga Community College Faculty Association, Administrative Professionals Group, and Educational Support Professionals approved the following Resolution:

We, the members of the Cayuga Community College Faculty Association, Administrative Professionals Group, and Educational Support Professionals, express No Confidence in College President Dr. Daniel Larson, and call for his resignation.

We believe that Dr. Larsons continued service as President is a hindrance to the Colleges mission to provide Cayuga County with the best possible institution of higher education.

The votes to accept this resolution occurred by secret ballot at the respective group meetings. At each meeting an overwhelming majority of the membership approved the resolutions of No Confidence.

While there are several reasons for a vote of No Confidence, Richard Ayres, the Director of the Center for Labor-Management Studies, posits that the causes for such a vote include lack of leadership, lack of communication, and lack of support. Our groups collectively believe that this President falls short in all three of these areas. We feel that the action we have taken by passing this resolution is the best way to communicate our concerns about the direction and stewardship of the College.

Our three groups have worked with both the Legislature and the Board of Trustees over many years. Now we believe that our investment in the College requires us to publicly state our concerns. The vote of No Confidence is a serious statement. This is the first time in the 60 year history of our College that three of the bargaining units, representing the vast majority of full-time employees at the college, have come together to jointly declare No Confidence in the college President.

Our groups remain committed to continuing our long record of working cooperatively, respectively, and productively with our Board of Trustees and the Cayuga County Legislature.

Sincerely,

CCFAAPGESP
