Mangrove crabs are considered a high priced seafood commodity that has potential for aquaculture in Palau. Farming these crabs inside mangrove areas using pen enclosures were found feasible. Sustainability of production is hindered due to the limited supply of mangrove crab juveniles collected from the wild. The development of improved hatchery techniques for production of mangrove crab juveniles is therefore a sound solution to address this concern in the aquaculture of mangrove crabs in Palau.
