Letter of Agencythe attached “Letter of Agency” (LOA), which will signify to the E-Rate program

administrator that we (CEN) are authorized to file, only for the connection from your district to the CEN, on your behalf.

Please note that signing this LOA will not affect in any way your ability to file separate E-Rate applications on your own for any services or goods you may require for your district or library. This application is completely separate and distinct from your local efforts. The State’s application is specifically and narrowly designed not to overlap with any local applications. The State files only for the connection from your district to the Connecticut Education Network as a telecom circuit charge. Although we do offer you filtering services and Internet service on that connection, we do not file with Erate for any funds related to those services so that there are no instances of overlapping applications between the CEN and your local efforts. The State is confident that this approach is correct and we would welcome an opportunity to correct alternateinterpretations that may be presented to you.

What are Superintendents asked to sign?

My signature on this document attests that I am aware that the State of Connecticut Department of Information Technology (DOIT) is filing a Year 7 Universal Services Fund application for the telecommunications services to connect my site to the Connecticut Education Network. I authorize participation in the consortium application.
