Noah was a manwhoworshiped God. Everyone

else hated and disobeyedGod. One day, God saidsomething shocking.

"I will

destroythis wickedworld," God

told Noah."Only your

family will be saved."

God warned Noah that a great flood wouldcome and coverthe earth. "Build a

wooden ark, a boat big enough for yourfamily and many animals," Noah was

ordered. God gave Noah exactinstructions. Noah got busy!

Noah keptbuilding. He

also kepttelling peopleabout God.

Nobodylistened.

Probably peoplemocked as Noah

explained why hewas making

an ark.

Noah had great faith.He believed God even

though rain had neverfallen before. Soonthe ark was ready tobe loaded with supplies.

Now came the animals. God brought seven of somespecies, two of others. Birds great and small,

beasts tiny and tall made their way to the ark.

Perhaps the people shouted insultsat Noah as he loaded the

animals. They did not stopsinning against God. Theydid not ask to enterthe ark.

Finally, allthe animalsand birds

were aboard."Come intotheark," God

invited Noah. "Youand your family." Noah,his wife, histhree sons

and their wives entered theark. Then God shutthe door!

Then the rain came.A great downpoursoakedthe earth

for forty days andnights.

Floodwaters

poured over townsand villages. When therain stopped, even the mountains

were under water. Everythingthat breathed air died.

As the waters rose, the arkfloated on top. It may have

been dark inside, maybebumpy, maybe even scary.But the ark sheltered

Noah from the flood.

After five months of flooding, Godsent a drying wind. Slowly, the ark

came to rest high in the mountainsof Ararat. Noah stayed inside

another forty days as the

water lowered.

Noah sent a raven and a dove out of the ark's openwindow. Not finding a dry, clean place to rest, the

dove returned to Noah.

God told Noah it was time to leave theark. Together,Noah and his family

unloaded the animals.

Noah and his family found newbeginnings after the flood.

In time, his descendants re-peopled the whole earth. Allthe nations of the world came

from Noah andhis children.

This Bible story tells us about our wonderful God whomade us and who wants us to know Him.

God knows we have done bad things, which He calls sin.The punishment for sin is death, but God loves us so

much He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on a Cross and be

punished for our sins. Then Jesus came back to life andwent home to Heaven! If you believe inJesus and askHim to forgiveyour sins, He will do it! He will come and

live in you now, and you will live with Him forever.

If you want to turn from your sins, saythis to God:

Dear God, I believe that Jesus died for me and

now lives again. Please come into my life andforgive my sins, so that I can have new life now,and one daygo to be with You forever. Help me

to live for You as Your child. Amen.
