Application

There's no better protection against moisture and industrial contami-nants than Pass & Seymour/Leg rand's Watertight Pin & Sleeveproducts. With spring-loaded covers, locking rings and neoprenegaskets, everything from water to dirt is completely shut out of theelectrical system. Even if the connection is accidentally submerged!

All of Pass & Seymour/Legrand's Watertight Pin and Sleeve Plugs;Connectors, Receptacles, and Inlets provide a number of featuresto enhance their versatility, reliability, and safety. For example, NorthAmerican products are supplied completely ready-to-wire makinginstallation quick and simple. All devices are constructed of athermoplastic material providing excellent impact and chemicalresistance. Shrouded, solid brass pins are nickel-plated and provideadded corrosion protection and excellent electrical conductivity.Staggered nickel-plated brass sleeves ensure the ground sleeve

makes first, neutral sleeve makes contact second followed by thephase sleeves - not to mention tight secure contact. The cord grip,viewed by many as one of the most important elements of the prod-uct, is hinged to the back body which equates to no loose parts thatcan get lost. And the screws are captivated. All screws are combina-tion Phillips and slotted head.

The North American product offering consists of 20 to 100 Ampdevices. All are UL Classified to IEC 309-1, and 309-2; UL Listed(complies with UL 1682 performance requirements and UL 1686configuration requirements); and CSA Certified to C22.2, 182.1. TheInternational product line consists of 16 to 125 Amp devices, are ULClassified to IEC 309-1, 309-2; UL Listed (complies to UL 498requirements where specified); CSA Certified; and conform to VDE,CEEE17, BS4343, and EN 60 309.

When to use Watertight Products

Outdoor connections for pumps, fans, heaters and other equipment.

Wherever maintenance equipment is exposed to possible immersion or corrosive chemicals.

Equipment connections under raised floors subject to water and coolant exposure. Also where criticalloads require a secure lock.

Outdoors, where connection is left on wet ground, exposed to icing, dust and severe weather.
