The majority of students returned on their scheduled day, which was wonderful! We will be continuing with the phase 1 return to school this week: Monday KA, KP and students with surnames starting with A-E; Tuesday KC, KS and students with surnames starting with F-L; Wednesday KA and students with surnames starting with M-R; Thursday KC, KS and students with surnames S-Z; and Friday KP. The school will be open for students of essential workers every day. Return to School Next Week As we heard from the Premier of NSW and the Minister for Education this morning, all students will be returning to school next week starting Monday 25 May for five days a week for face-to-face teaching. This will mean that all students will be expected back to school and teachers will not be providing any online or home learning packs. It will be wonderful to have all students return to school for face to face teaching next week. Dropping off and Picking Up Students at School Gates Thank you to parents and caregivers who have been following the dropping off and picking up at our school gates procedures. As COVID 19 is mainly transferred between adults we are asking that parents do not come into the school grounds and wait for their children. If you would like to talk to your child’s teacher, please phone the office and a message will be given to the teacher to return your call. This will support having less adults within the school and will allow social distancing between adults to be adhered to. We appreciate your ongoing support.

Dropping off and Picking Up Students at

School Gates

Thank you to parents and caregivers who have been

following the dropping off and picking up at our

school gates procedures.

As COVID 19 is mainly transferred between adults

we are asking that parents do not come into the

school grounds and wait for their children. If you

would like to talk to your child’s teacher, please

phone the office and a message will be given to the

teacher to return your call. This will support having

less adults within the school and will allow social

distancing between adults to be adhered to. We

appreciate your ongoing support.

Strategies for the Students to Return to School As part of managing students returning to

school:

All classrooms have hand sanitiser for

students to use;

Laptops and computers are being

regularly cleaned after use by different

students;

Students are encouraged not to drink

from the bubblers but bring a drink

bottle and refill from the chiller bubblers;

Having parents and caregivers drop off

and pick up students from the gates, to

stop having too many adults in the

school;

Enhanced cleaning occurring from 12-

3pm, with the playground equipment,

bubblers and student toilets being

cleaned after recess and lunch each day;

and

There will be no assemblies or morning

lines, as we cannot have mass gatherings.

If your child is unwell please keep them at home

and if your child is unwell at school, parents will

be contacted to come and collect their child.

The Department of Education has given all

schools a first aid kit, which includes a

contactless thermometer, which staff will use in

their response to a child who presents with

symptoms of illness including fever.

Earth Art Activities 5W During the week 5W did earth art. We collected natural things from the playground and arranged them into colourful patterns to create an art work. Some of the things we used were different coloured autumn leaves, gumnuts, sticks and bark. We had lots of fun. By Ruby and Reuben

If your child is coming on Tuesdays and they are in the band, they will need to bring their instrument so they can be involved in these tutorials. Thanking you Mr Pendlebury and Mrs Remke
