History • Norway attempted to remain neutral in World
War II, German troops invaded, and in a short time nearly the whole country was in German hands. Even though Norway lost half its troops they still managed to achieve a booming economy after ww2. Despite the attempts to promote collaboration with the Germans, the people of Norway defied the occupation forces. German troops remained in Norway until the war ended in May, 1945. Norway quickly recovered its commercial position.
Criteria
• The HDI criteria which Norway has managed to achieve are literacy rate, life expectancy at birth, number of deaths/ 1000 live births, GDP, inflation rate, level of economic freedom, and sanitation.
• Norway is a constitutional monarchy governed under the constitution of 1814. The hereditary monarch is the head of state. The prime minister, who is the head of government, is appointed by the monarch with the approval of Parliament. Members of the seat unicameral Parliament or Sorting are popularly elected to four-year terms. Administratively, Norway is divided into 19 counties

Environmental reason
• Agriculture in Norway accounts for about 2 percent of annual GDP and only 3 percent of the land is cultivated—The leading crops were cereals particularly barley, wheat, and oats and potatoes. Norway is still a major fishing nation as it is close to the coast and thus uses it to the fullest and is self-sufficient in many agricultural products, but fruits, vegetables, and most grains are all imported. Agriculture and fishing remain heavily protected by the Norwegian government.
• Therefore we conclude by saying norway does not solely depend on agriculture as the soil there is very poor.
Natural resources
• Fuels: Petroleum, Natural Gas Metals: Iron Ore, Copper, Lead, Zinc, Titanium, Pyrites, Nickel Natural: Fish, Timber, Hydropower
Climate • Norway has a mild climate for a country so
far north. With the great latitudinal range, the north is considerably cooler than the south, while the interior is cooler than the west coast, average yearly temperature ranges from a about 5° C in January to 28° C in July. The annual range of coastal temperatures is much less than that of the continental interior
