At the beginning of 2015 the payroll team will be sending out new tax exemption form to all employee that have current exemptions set up in payroll that exceeds the basic amount, please complete and return A.S.A.P. for accurate taxation on your income. Keep in mind when changing banks, or bank accounts to let the payroll department know prior to making any changes, this will ensure you receive your pay on time.
Did you know you can sign up on Total Access for tax forms, allowing you to review print or file at your convenience? Ask your payroll department for sign up information.

YANNICK GOSSELIN and IVAN VALLEJO recently improved one of the Abmast production process and exemplified the SFS principles. Yannick works on a machine that can only rework 4.5” wheels . His idea was to eliminate waste of time and simplify the process by adding the necessary equipment on the automated machine to rework the high volume 5” wheel, which was done manually before. Congratulations to Yannick and Ivan for their great work!

Once Ivan was informed of this project, they both worked as a team to standardize the process and create shadow boards. Yannick and Ivan went above and beyond to help improve the company’s productivity.
Lately, the Microtec Partner programs department held its Annual Distributors Conference. Two days of intensive trainings, discussions and cooperation. Pleasant activities that left memorable moments & Helped strengthen our distribution network that is developing impressively. Steve Lorenowicz was featured in Communicator by Motion Canada due to his collaborated effort with Motion Industries to manufacture a new Hydraulic Pump Unit complete with the electrical box to replace the pump unit used on Power Assist Revolving Door. This new unit would eliminate the need for us to manufacture the electrical box that is attached to the old unit; thereby eliminate the cost associated with fabricating the box and doing all the necessary testing. This new unit is manufactured in the identifiable Stanley Yellow; runs more efficiently; is CSA Approved and provided us with the cost efficiency that we were looking for. We would like to thank Mr. Steve Lorenowicz (on right) for his leadership in making this project a success.
On September 15, Mr. Piero Romani joined Stanley Black and Decker as Vice President, SSS- Canada. Piero has a unique experience to identify customer’s solutions, promote growth through execution and to improve the business profitability. In his new role, Piero will be in charge of executing profitable growth for the P& L of SSS - Canada. He has already taken a Canadian tour of our facilities to meet with employees and leaders of the divisions that form SSS in order to understand their current challenges. We Would like to welcome him and hope to follow him through the next success of Stanley Security Solutions!

Distribution Centre Community Outreach
CDIY Millcreek reached significant milestones this quarter
On July 8th and 9th the CDIY Millcreek employees put on their hardhats and put our tools to use by volunteering at the Toronto Habitat for Humanity branch. The longstanding partnership between Stanley Black & Decker and Habitat for Humanity has had a broader impact on the local community and helping more families achieve home ownership. Thanks To All Who Participated!!
Thursday July 31st at 11pm the CDIY DC reached…. 1,000,000 Hours Worked Without a Recordable Injury! This milestone was made with a lot of hard work and continuously being diligent in reporting hazards and taking steps to correct them. This tremendous achievement reflects the focus and discipline around health and safety that exists at all levels at the Millcreek location. Congratulations Team!!!
Friday September 26th at 11pm the CDIY DC shipped a Record GSV of $4.3M in business, smashing its previously held GSV shipping records. This outstanding achievement is a result of the entire CDIY Canadian organization rallying together to ensure that the business delivers. Our competitive advantage is our people and the dedication and hard work that the team puts in each and everyday. Great Job!!
