With an aim to increase the reach of National Career Service (NCS) among the youth of our nation, we

have recently integrated with the AICTE, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MoHRD), Govt.

of India. Under this integration, NCS has been registering final year students of affiliated

universities/colleges/technical institutions under All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)

on the NCS Portal by using Offline Functionality.

This collaboration will enable final year students in institutions to access information on employment

and career related activities. With the help of NCS, students can easily avail numerous services such

as Job Search, Job Matching, Rich Career Content, Assessment Test, Career Counselling, Information

on Job Fairs, Services of local service providers.

As of now, more than 580 institutions have initiated registrations across the country. Around 74, 000

students have already been registered on NCS Portal by various institutions affiliated under AICTE.

Moreover, maximum registrations are done in states such as Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Karnataka,

Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.

This integration between NCS and MoHRD would also benefit Employers as much as jobseekers

registered on the NCS Portal. Now, Employers can access a rich pool of technical students passing out

from various institutions, for their technical job profiles.

The civil aviation industry in India has emerged as one of the fastest growing industries in the country

during the last three years. India is currently considered the third largest domestic civil aviation market

in the world. India has become the third largest domestic aviation market in the world and is expected to

overtake UK to become the third largest air passenger (International and Domestic) market by 2024.

Domestic passenger traffic grew year on year by 18.28 per cent to reach 243 million in FY18 and is

expected to become 293.28 million in FY20E. International passenger grew year on year by 10.43 per

cent to reach 65.48 million in FY18 and traffic is expected to become 76 million in FY20E.

In FY19, passenger traffic in India stood at 344.70 million. Out of which domestic passenger traffic stood

at 275.22 million while international traffic stood at 69.48 million. Total freight traffic handled in India

stood at 3.56 million tonnes during the same time. In FY19, domestic aircraft movement stood at 2.15

million while international aircraft movement stood at 0.45 million.

India’s aviation industry is largely untapped with huge growth opportunities, considering that air

transport is still expensive for majority of the country’s population, of which nearly 40 per cent is the

upwardly mobile middle class. The industry stakeholders should engage and collaborate with policy

makers to implement efficient and rational decisions that would boost India’s civil aviation industry.

With the right policies and relentless focus on quality, cost and passenger interest, India would be well

placed to achieve its vision of becoming the third-largest aviation market by 2020. – (Source: India
