She is a co-founder and board member of the Global Cleantech Cluster Associa-tion (GCCA).

Christian Hauselmann, Co-founder of Global Cleantech Cluster Association, co-founder of swiss-cleantech

Christian is an innovation-driven Swiss economist and serial entrepreneur with 20 years of experi-ence in the Cleantech sector, both with start-ups and global organizations. Today he lives in San Diego/California developing strategic partnerships between Swiss and US Cleantech entrepreneurs, as the co- founder of swisscleantech.

Markus Lampinen is an internationally awarded entrepreneur, active in pioneering new securities models worldwide at the intersection of the Inter-net and the securities markets. Markus currently serves as the CEO of Crowd Valley Inc, a US-based crowdfunding marketplace platform, back office and ecosystem service provider, which is part of the Grow VC Group. He is also a global investor and Senior Partner at the Grow VC group. He has been active in the new securities market, having recruited over 120 individuals, built up a global team on six continents and expanded operations to over 150 countries. In his earlier businesses, he served in diverse roles, taking on the responsibili-ties of CFO and driving sales growth of over 270% per year for several subsequent years. Markus holds an M.S. and a B.A. in Economics.

Shawn Lesser, Co-founder and partner Watershed Capital Group (USA), co-founder of Global Clean-tech Cluster Association

Shawn has over sixteen years experience in international equity sales with a focus on Europe. Prior to co-founding Watershed Capital Group, Shawn founded the investment bank, Sustainable World Capital, which assists cleantech companies raise capital from European institutional investors. Shawn has been Co-Head and Managing Direc-tor of the international equity teams at Morgan Keegan and at NBA Deutsche Bank. He received his BS in Finance from Syracuse University. He writes for various cleantech publications and is known as the David Letterman of Cleantech for his “Top 10″ series.

Todd Nelson is the Manager of Venture Support at NextEnergy, consulting with university and small companies to commercialize advanced energy innovations in the State of Michigan’s Cleantech Cluster. Todd’s responsibilities include designing and managing grant programs totaling over $1M, and supporting a portfolio of over 50 start-up clients. Todd was selected as a member of the inaugural class of Venture for America Fellows and chose placement in Detroit, MI. He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Arts from Columbia University, double majoring in environ-mental science and American history.

Dr. Eugene Yun is Managing Director of the P80 Group Foundation. He also serves as Managing Partner of Eos Investment Partners, a Seoul-based investment firm he co-founded. Eos Investment Partners specializes in cross-border investments with particular emphasis in climate finance and natural resources. As Senior Strategic Advisor to the Asian Development Bank, Dr. Yun helped develop the Climate Public Private Partnership Fund. Dr. Yun has had the pleasure of working in many different fields with Soros Fund Manage-ment, Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, Schroder Securi-ties, Maeil Kyungje Shinmun, University of British Columbia and Ewha University. Dr. Yun studied undergraduate economics at Yonsei University and received his Ph.D. degree in economics from the University of Minnesota specializing in monetary and macroeconomic theory.

Lisa Ann Pinkerton, President, Technica Commu-nications

From the newsroom to the boardroom, Lisa Ann has used her keen analytical skills to share tech-nology stories with the world for over a decade. She is Founder and President of Technica Com-munications and Founder of the networking group Women In Cleantech & Sustainability. Technica Communications specializes in public relations, website content, promotional videos, social media campaigns and other marketing activities for cleantech, health care and internet companies.

Ivan Hutter has been with the General Electric Company since 1995 and, currently, he is the Gen-eral Manager for the Public Sector for GE Lighting Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior GE assign-ments included Director and GM level commercial positions at GE Aviation’s and GE Lighting’s Global HQ’s in Ohio, USA. He holds M.Sc. degrees in Management and in Engineering from the U.S. and Europe and is a certified GE Master Blackbelt. He has been engaged in several international, state organizations and NGO’s in public-private partnerships in sustainability and energy efficiency such as the International Civil Aviation Organiza-tion, Montreal, Canada, the European Commis-sion and he is a Director of the Executive Board of LightingEurope, Brussels, Belgium.

Nancy E. Clanton, Founder and President of Clanton & Associates, an awarded sustainable lighting designer. Nancy was lighting group leader for Greening of the White House, led the lighting workshops for the C40 conference in Seoul, and was awarded the IESNA Presidential Award in 1990 and 2006.

Vesa Pentikäinen, Research team leader at VTT

Vesa has 15 years of work experience from high tech companies carrying out and leading R&D projects. He has also been responsible for product concept development, product marketing and technical support functions. For six years at VTT Vesa has been leading a research team working closely together with industry partners like ma-chine manufacturers, control system and lighting product makers. His research interests include smart lighting, wireless control, multimodal user interfaces and visualization technologies.

Rene Savelsberg is co-founder, CEO and Managing Director of Chrysalix SET since 2007. He is respon-sible for the strategy and overall operations of the SET Funds. His focus is on companies in the areas of smart grid, energy efficiency, transportation and infrastructure. He serves on the Board of Se-faira Ltd and is observer on the Boards of Alertme.com Ltd, General Fusion Inc. and MicroShade A/S. He also served on the Board of Epyon B.V. which was acquired by ABB in June 2011. Rene Savelsberg holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering & Management from the Technical University Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Karsten Hojberg is the European Clean Tech Manufacturing Business Development Manager for Autodesk. The Autodesk Clean Tech Partner Program supports the efforts, innovations, and environmental advancements of clean technol-ogy pioneers by providing world-class software to design, visualize, and simulate ground-breaking ideas. In his role, Karsten provides access to this leading edge design and simulation software to CleanTech Start-ups and entrepreneurs so that they can innovate and get their products to market faster. Karsten previously headed up the CleanTech Partner programs in both Japan and Australia/New Zealand. Karsten joined Autodesk in 2008 as the Manufacturing industry manager primarily responsible for driving sales in the Australia/New Zealand region of the Autodesk Manufacturing products. Karsten holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the Uni-versity of Western Sydney.

Nicolas Maréchal-Abram is Project Manager in Innovation Management Department, Veolia En-vironnement Research and Innovation since 2011. Prior to this position, he worked in several Japa-nese companies and joined Veolia Water Japan group in 2007 as R&D manager. He did Cleantech watch in Japan for Veolia Environnement until 2011. Arrived in Japan in 2000 as student, he got a PhD. in Environmental Science from Shizuoka University in 2004. He worked on bioindicators of environment quality studying heavy metal parti-tion coefficients between calcitic microorganisms and seawater.

Ella Labonne

Graduated in engineering of indutrial processes, Ella Labonne has acquired for 10 years a strong technical experience in the field of waste treat-ment and industrial service management. She is currently project manager within VERI, Veolia’s reseach center. She is managing a portfolio of re-search projects and supervising the development of new processes for waste treatment and sorting. At the origin of several patented innovations, she is working in association with several actors in dif-ferent fields of expertise (signal processing, data analysis, mécanics, automatism, robotics, human sciences).

Tarja Teppo, Partner, Cleantech Invest

Tarja has been involved with renewable energy and other cleantech research and advisory pro-jects for Nordic institutional and industrial inves-tors as a co-founder of Cleantech Invest (CTI). She has also been involved in the development of the CTI cleantech seed fund from the beginning. Tarja has carried out clean energy and other cleantech private equity (PE) fund evaluations and detailed due diligence (DD) projects on direct cleantech investments on behalf of CTI’s clients.

Wang Yu, D. Sc. (Tech), team leader, waste man-agement in Aalto University

Wang achieved his Doctor degree from Aalto University, Finland in 2013. His research interests are landfill management and leachate treatment. In the field of Finnish business internationalization related to China, Wang carried out responsibilities as a project manager in various projects in China and Finland in a multi-nation and cross-cultural environment. Wang acted as the business devel-opment manager of Finnish Environmental Cluster for China from 2008 to 2012 and since 2013 starts to work in waste management team, Aalto Uni-versity. Patric Gresko is Head of Unit within EIF’s Venture Capital team. EIF is the largest European venture capital fund-of-funds with more than €3B under management and a portfolio of over 220 venture capital funds. Patric leads a team that invests in early stage funds and manages a portfolio of venture capital funds representing total commit-ments of more than €1B in all major technology sectors. With EIF’s Venture Capital team, he is further developing EIF’s activity by designing and implementing new innovative equity products, notably in the corporate venturing space. He started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Luxembourg as an auditor and consultant for the financial sector. Julien Mialaret is an Investment Manager at Idinvest Partners, the management company of Electranova Capital, a cleantech fund sponsored by EDF, the world’s third largest Utility. Julien con-ducts investments in Europe, North America and China, mainly in the sectors energy and resource efficiency and digital energy (smart grid, intelli-gent power systems).

Prior to joining Idinvest Partners, Julien provided strategic advisory to energy and environmental technology start-ups in the Chinese market. Pauli Marttila, M.Sc. (Tech), is the Director of Cor-porate Investments of Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund. His team is responsible for executing and managing the Venture Capital company invest-ments of Sitra. He has been on the Board of Direc-tors, as a Member or the Chairman, of more than fifteen high technology companies and a mem-ber of several Venture Capital fund Investment Committees and Advisory Boards. He also has a 14 year career in the polymers and chemicals in-dustry and previously was the General Manager of New Developments for Neste Chemicals in Finland and Manager of Noptek Venture Capital Fund in Boston, USA.

Claus Hackmann, PhD, joined BASF Venture Capi-tal GmbH as an Investment Manager in September 2010. Before that he was head of production of Electronic Materials in Europe within in the BASF SE and was responsible as leader of the Business Process Management team of the business unit Detergents and Formulators. He studied chem-istry at the Westfälischen Wilhelms Universität Münster.

Mika Saariaho, Ph.D. (Tech.) Senior Vice President of Energy & Water at Outotec Oyj since July 2013. Mika served as the Chief Strategy Officer and Member of the Executive Board at Outotec Oyj from 2010 to 2013. Formerly he worked as Deputy Director General of World Steel Association. Ear-lier in his career he was employed at Outokumpu Oyj where he served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Planning and Vice Presi-dent of Corporate Strategy. Juho Malmberg, Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Malmberg is an accomplished leader for strong growth. Kari Herlevi is currently responsible for the Resource efficient economy area in Tekes. Pekka Koponen, Founder and CEO of Spinverse, has strong international experience in emerging technologies and markets. Pekka joined Nokia 1990 as a smart card expert for company’s first GSM phone. Per Ericsson has been a Venture Partner at ETF since inception. Based in Stockholm, he sources new investments in the Nordic region as well as helping our existing portfolio companies grow.

Before ETF, Per ran GE’s business across the Nordic region and the Baltic States. Over a period of over 20 years, he was responsible for build-ing it up from 100 people and $150m of revenue to 8,000 people and $2.6bn of revenue. Per has also worked at Motorola Semiconductor Europe, where he held various senior positions in Sweden, UK, Germany, and Switzerland. Per is a Swed-ish National and has a Masters degree from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

Nils Bennemann joined Greencoat Capital after four years as Investment Manager at Candover Partners where he co-led the company’s efforts to originate and execute private equity transactions in the Clean Energy sector. He has transactional experience across Europe and has served on the board of portfolio companies. Prior to Candover, Nils spent 3 years in investment banking, arrang-ing several leveraged financings in support of private equity transactions at CIBC World Markets and advising Media and Telecoms companies as part of the M&A team at Lehman Brothers. Jakob Wirbatz is an Investment Manager at Evonik Corporate Venturing. Prior to joining Evonik, Jakob was a Partner of WEITNAUER, a law firm focused on M&A and venture capital transactions. From 2001 he worked as Legal Counsel and Investment Manager at the management company of MVV Energie’s corporate venture capital fund, previous-ly having been part of the team that structured and established the fund. Heli Antila, Chief Technology Officer, Fortum Oyj since June, 2012.

Heli received her PhD in Control Engineering from Tampere University of Technology, Finland in 1997. Her main research topics were optimal scheduling of hydro and thermal power, feasibility of energy storages and integration of wind power to energy systems. She joined consulting company Pöyry in 1997 focusing on energy sector manage-ment consulting. Her consulting experience covers energy markets, regulation and policy, energy con-tracts, combined heat and power, strategies and M&A. In Fortum her main tasks are to capture and develop technology enabled business opportuni-ties for Fortum.

Harri Ollila has been working at a Finnish venture capital team VNT Management Oy in Finland and in Germany as a partner since 2007. The three current funds of the company accumulate to a size of over €157M. Previously, Harri was working at Elcoteq SE, a contract manufacturer for communi-cation technology companies. Positions held dur-ing 2002-2007 were SVP Corporate Relations and President, Europen operations. Prior to Elcoteq he was working at ABB in Finland and Canada during years 1983-2002. Harri is a Chairman of the board in four of the target companies of VNT’s invest-ment portfolio and a Member of the board in four of the portfolio companies. He has a M.Sc. degree from Helsinki University of Technology and MBA from HUT Executive School of Business.

Kai Engelhardt is Head of MAHLE Corporate Ven-ture Capital since 2012. MAHLE’s CVC investment activities focus on companies offering technolo-gies that reinforce and strengthen the core busi-ness as well as open up opportunities within the cleantech sector.

Prior to beginning his career with MAHLE, Kai worked for premium OEMs such as BMW and Daimler and is well connected in the automotive industry. In 2008 Kai joined MAHLE as Strategic Analyst for the Corporate Planning Department. During this time he established a worldwide com-petitor network and developed and implemented several business strategy supporting tools, which still serve as input for the corporate strategy meeting. As Business Development Manager from 2010 to 2012 Kai actively contributed to the strat-egy of the non-automotive sector of MAHLE and was involved in many M&A projects.

Philip Padfield became CEO Eniram in August 2009 – his third CEO appointment. He has 25 years of executive management, sales & market-ing and corporate development experience in the international software market. He has served as a main board director and on the management teams of several leading enterprise software firms, and as non-executive director of several international technology firms. Phil was educated at Royal Holloway College, London University; and The Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst; and holds an MBA degree from Henley Business School.

Henri Grundstén is a director at Finnish Industry Investment (FII) focusing on new investment opportunities, innovation collaboration and international co-operation network. During years 2004 through 2011 he headed FII’s venture capital investment team and supervised investments in more than 100 early stage companies as syndi-cated investments with private co-investors. He was also responsible of FII’s venture capital fund investments during years 2004 - 2007.

In his earlier career Henri worked in the ICT industry and in start-up companies holding several different positions in sales, consultancy and man-agement. He holds a D. Sc. degree from Helsinki University of Technology in Industrial Manage-ment. He has also served in the Board of Direc-tors of Finnish Venture Capital Association, FVCA during years 2006 - 2012.

Anssi Lehikoinen is a serial entrepreneur, who currently is a CEO and co-founder of Rocsole Ltd, a technology startup company developing industrial process optimization solutions. Prior to Rocsole he was a CEO and co-founder of a growth company Numcore Ltd, which was acquired by Outotec Plc in 2012. Anssi’s core competences are startup business development, startup funding strategies, and commercialization of technology in international markets. Anssi is a Member of the Board in three growth companies and has a Ph.D. in Physics.

Dag Sandås serves as an Executive Vice President and Deputy to Chief Executive Officer at The Switch Engineering Oy and has been its Chief Financial Officer since January 2007. Mr. Sandås worked at Wärtsilä Diesel for 10 years, where he held different positions in corporate finance, including the role of Chief Financial Officer for the Marine Engines division. In 1998, he joined Vacon as Chief Financial Officer, and later moved to become Chief Financial Officer of Finn-Power in 2003 before joining The Switch. He worked four years as Assistant and Acting Associate Professor at HANKEN in economics and corporate finance. Mr. Sandås graduated from HANKEN, the Swedish School of Economics and Business Administra-tion in Helsinki, Finland, with a master’s degree in corporate finance.

Timo Peter is a seasoned professional with a dec-ade’s M&A, VC and entrepreneurial experience in the cleantech, energy and industrial sectors. As a member of the smart industry team at Cartagena Capital, a munich-based international Corporate Finance Advisory boutique, he executes cross-bor-der M&A and fundraising transactions for small- and mid-cap technology companies from Europe. Timo was formerly a member of the investment team at Glotec Ventures. He was also a Co-Found-er and Board Member of Mottai, a smart meter start-up. Kari Lahti is Head of Performance unit at Fortum Power and Heat Oy. Performance unit specializes in power plant performance improvement and their main products are related to power plant operation optimization, energy efficiency improve-ment, availability and condition management as well as expert services related to combustion technology and deliveries of nitrogen emissions-reducing burner technologies and reduction sys-tems. Kari has over 25 years’ experience in energy industry in managerial position at power plants and project development and as technical service provider in Europe and also in China and Russia.

Eero Pekkola has worked as CEO of Oilon com-panies since 1997. Mr. Pekkola’s is Mechanical Engineer by education, and he has over 25 years of experience in international marketing and the export business of Finnish workshops. Under his leadership the company has expanded operations significantly from conventional oil and gas burner business to environmental technology products. Main products are combustion systems for i.e. hazardous waste, waste, - and municipal gas, bio gas and bio oil combustion systems and ground source heat pumps.

Mr. Pekkola is also a board member of the Finn-ish Association of Mechanical Building Services Industries (FAMBSI; LVI-Talotekniikka ry), the chairman of the China network for the Confedera-tion of Finnish Industries (EK) and a member of the executive group in Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation.

Jussi Nykänen is the Founding Partner and CEO of GreenStream Network Plc. He has 25 years of ex-perience in energy and environmental businesses. At GreenStream he has established intermediary and asset management businesses and has since 2006 been in charge of company’s expansion to China. GreenStream is financing energy efficiency projects in China through its Hong Kong JV and is assisting technology companies in their China entry.

Matti Kuronen is a Director of Technological and Environmental Services at City of Lahti from 2012. Saara Vauramo is a development manager at the Lahti Region Environmental Services. She works together with different public and private organi-sations to reach the ambitious environmental tar-gets of Lahti city area. The main focus of her work is on enhancing resource use efficiency, renewable energy and energy efficiency of buildings. She has conducted a PhD thesis, which dealt about the nutrient dynamics of urban soils.

Dr. Mari Pantsar-Kallio is leading government’s strategic programme for cleantech business at the Ministry of Employment and the Economy of Finland. In 2007-2012 she acted as the director of Finnish Cleantech Cluster and in 2001-2007 as a manager at UPM environmental affairs. Mari is a chairman of Finnish Water Forum and Rus-sian Finnish energy club and a board member of Ahlström Capital Cleantech Management Ky.
