What is your

favorite subject in

school? When I inter-

viewed students here at

CJHS about their fa-

vorite subject, Physical

Education won the ma-

jority of votes among

the students. Although

I was surprised, P.E. is

probably the most liked

class for several rea-

sons. Physical Education

is a great way to keep

healthy. It is also a way

to get anger out

through playing sports,

and it can help you let

out energy.

I feel like the

students chose this as

their favorite subject,

because it is pretty

much a laid back in

class, except for on

Wednesdays when we

run the mile. If it is

rainy outside on

Wednesday, we do exer-

cises in-

side. Some-

times we

do stations

on these

days, which

is when we

do several

different

exercises such as bur-

pees, sit-ups, jump on

one leg, wall-sits, etc..

There are a lot

of great subjects at

Central to choose from,

but this time P.E. came

in first. It may not be

everyone’s favorite and

it maybe challenging at

times, but

it is still

the fa-

vored

among the

students

at CJHS.

Brace Yourself,

fiction lovers, this book

is a revelation. In “This

Song Will Save Your

Life” by Leila Sales,

relatable misfit Elise

tells readers all about

her struggles at school

and at home. She is a

very real character in

the way she thinks and

feels very similar to how

readers in her age group

think and feel. Elise is in

a slump herself until she

stumbles upon a secret

and exciting night life

that might just change

her whole world. I give

this book a 10/10, and

definitely recommend it

to all young readers out

there. I think it is a

MUST READ!!

Athletic P.E is

an elective at CJHS

taught by Mr. Overturf.

This class can be taken

every 9 weeks. Some of

the students that have

this as there first hour

class can also be office

workers. You have to be

involved in two sports to

be in APE.

McKenzie Boren

is one student

in APE. She said

that they do

line tapers, bur-

pees, stations,

and they run.

McKenzie also

said that they

play football and volley-

ball. Mr. Overturf said

that they do different

things every time in

APE. I asked McKenzie

on a scale of 1-10 how

hard is it to do these

things on a daily bases

and she said she would

give the activities a 5 or

6.

Mr. Overturf

said that there have

not been any injuries so

far this year. I asked if

Mr. Overturf has a num-

ber one student in this

class. He said no and

that he treats everyone

the same. McKenzie

agreed with him and

said he treats everyone

the same. McKenzie

said that she would have

to think about doing

APE in high school, but

right now she would

have to say no, because

she would have to run

further and would have

to do more work.

Even though

Athletic P.E is tough, a

majority of those in the

class do like to do the

extra work. It’s not eve-

ryone's favorite thing

to do, but if you love it

then go ahead and do

what you love.

if you go to the store,

because you will need to

figure out how much you

bought so that you

don't go over your

budget. Math is used to

perform many different

daily tasks.

Everything in math

includes numbers one

way or another. Math is

extremely important in

society. In Southern

Illinois, we learn Com-

mon Core math. Back in

Ancient Greek times,

math was only taught in

Why do you

think math is impor-

tant? I think it is im-

portant, because you

learn a lot in math.

One thing that

you might learn are dif-

ferent skills, like dif-

ferent subjects. Pretty

much all the sciences

rely on math. Logical

thinking and math go

hand in hand. You even

read in math!

We need math

for everyday things in

life just. You need math

upper classes, meaning

that the upper classes

were probably the most

educated people in soci-

ety.

I think math is

very important in our so-

ciety! You learn many

things in math. If you

didn't believe math was

important, I hope some-

thing that I have men-

tioned has changed your

mind.

Unlike

any other haunted

school, Chittyville has a

unique story behind it .

Supposedly,

Chittyville had “ghost

hunters” come, and they

actually saw a ghost, a

girl . The story goes

that this girl had a

asthma attack in school

and she died. A couple

years later, a teacher

was alone after school

and she saw this ghost

in her corner of her eye.

The teacher's hair got

caught in a Bunsen

Burner and she also

died. Since this time,

there have been other

sightings including a

glowing light and com-

puter mouses moving by

themselves.

Unlike any other

haunted house, Chitty-

ville is believed to be

actually haunted and

some people won’t go to

there because they have

heard things. I have

been there twice and

have found it to be

creepy. If you didn’t go

this year, Chittyville

will open again

in October of

2017.

spreading around very

fast there have been

more rumors of clown

sightings in parks,

woods, under street

lamps, and mainly any-

where they can scare

people. As the rumors

and clown sightings

pop up, the more the

fear the clowns has

been used to make

others even more

scared. As some of

the post on Facebook

have said. The myth

of the clowns will

keep scaring us until

after Halloween.

Even if the

clowns are just a

myth, we will never

really know. Person-

ally, I believe that

the clowns are real,

but you might have a

different opinion.

The clown

myth has been around

for a while, but in Au-

gust of 2016 the

myth has become

popular again. The

myth has been scaring

a lot of people re-

cently, and I did a

survey to find how

people here at CJHS

felt about this myth.

Twenty out of

fifty people say its

fake, while the other

thirty people think

the clown myth is

real. As the clown

myth has been

Today, I will be talking about the laws of aerodynamics in my

favorite game, Kerbal Space Program. Are you tired of accidentally

killing your kerbals in KSP, because of your faulty Aeroplanes/Spaceplanes?

If you answered yes you are in the right place.

First up on the list is Wing Aspect Ratio. Wing Aspect Ratio (WAR)

is very important. The higher your WAR, the more stable your air-

plane\spaceplane is, but the more fragile. The lower causes less stable air-

craft, but less fragile. That concludes WAR.

Time to move on to wing placement. Wing

placement is what controls COL. To take off you need to lift off of the

ground. To lift off your COL needs to be behind the COM or else you will be

super unstable and crash and kill your

Kerbals on possibly their first flight. So to

control COL you click on these buttons. I

have also gathered an official picture ex-

plaining more than I can.

Thanks for reading this short article.

Next issue, I will teach you how to put a

Space Station into orbit in one launch in Kerbal Space Program.

There are all kinds of computers out there. There are personal rigs, gaming rigs, and

work rigs. There is a big difference in between all of these PC’s.

I personally have a gaming PC, they are great for just about everything. They can play games (obviously), do edit-

ing rendering, and just about anything you want. Gaming PC’s are the most superior type of PC. Just because a computer is

more expensive or looks cooler doesn’t mean that it is better. It's what's in them what matters.

The inside of computers are parts or specs. Specific specs do specific things. All PC’s need the same specific

parts. They all need a HDD (Hard Disk Drive) or SSD (Solid State Drive), which SSD’s are a lot faster. You also need a

motherboard, this is the most important part. The motherboard holds everything together, everything connects to it.

Next, you need a CPU (Central Processing Unit) which does all the central processing of the computer, hints the name

central. The CPU has a spot for everything. It is always being used. Next you need a copy of an OS (Operating System), I

prefer Windows (especially windows 7), you can get all kinds of OS’s like Linux or OSX. If

you wanted you can add a GPU (Graphical Processing Unit), extra fans to keep it cool, a

case, and, of course, a monitor.

Although there are more things to learn about computers, these are all the

things you must know to have an operating computer. This information includes the basic

things you should know about PC’s.

The first game of

softball was played on

Thanksgiving Day 1887. I

personally believed that

softball came about from

baseball, but I was wrong.

Believe it or not

softball actually made it’s

way as an official sport

from a football game. One

day at a football game

when Yale was announced

the winner of the game, a

Yale fan then jumped up,

and threw a boxing glove

at a Harvard fan. The man

he threw it at then re-

acted by swinging a stick

at it, and the other people

at the the football game

started to watch the game

of “softball” that was go-

ing on. George Handcock, a

football reporter just

messing around yelled

“Play Ball!” Quickly after

that football game, soft-

ball became a sport that

everybody wanted to play.

In 1934, the Joint

Committee of Softball

made rules for this game.

Some of the rules that

they made were the size

of the ball and player

positions. The original

softball was 16 inches in

circumference. However,

the softballs used today

are are 10 - 12 inches.

Softball quickly became

an official sport once

popularity grew. This sport

is now played outside, with

a 12 inch ball, composite

bats, and gloves.

Softball is a hard

sport that takes lot’s of

practice, even though it

can be painful sometimes,

it is definitely worth the

pain for the love of the

game.

to create her own style

of dance. Contemporary

dance includes several

different styles of mu-

sic including rock & roll,

and hip-hop.

Well, now it’s

time to learn about my

dancing life. I’ve danced

since I was only 5 years

old, so that means I

have danced for 8 years

all together. I do two

types of dances, which

are Jazz and Lyrical. I

participate in group

dances with 6-8 dancers

in them. They run in dif-

ferent categories like

small groups, large

groups, productions, but

their are also solos. I

do a Jazz solo which is

all by myself.

Dance

is definitely

not for every-

body, but if

you like it, and

work hard

enough for it,

you could be

good too.

Dance is my

happy place. I have

been a dancer for 8

years, and I love it. It

is fun, challenging, and

good exercises.

There are many

different styles of

dance. The styles in-

clude Contemporary,

Ballet, Jazz, Hip-hop,

Lyrical, Musical Thea-

ter, and Tap. Contempo-

rary dance began when

Isadora Duncan, a U.S.

dancer, broke away

from ballet and decided

Dan and Phil are my favorite YouTubers. They may be crazy and sometimes idiotic, but that’s what makes

them my favorite. They make me happy and they are awesome. They also inspire me. For example, I once drew

whiskers on my face to be like them.

Daniel James Howell was born on June 11, 1991. He is currently 25 years old. He was born in Wokingham,

United Kingdom. His channel name is Danisnotonfire. He has a radio show that he does with Phil. They have

lived together for nearly four years, well they have lived in London for that long together. He has over six

million subscribers. They have a channel together named DanandPhilGAMES. They take care of Dil and Tabitha

on the Sims 4.

Philip Michael Lester was born on January 30, 1987. He is 29 years old. He was born in Rawtenstall,

Lancashire. He has over three million subscribers. His channel name is AmazingPhil. Phil’s favorite Pokémon is

Growlithe.

There are many random facts out there about both Dan and Phil.

They both have `Emo` hair. Dan probably wouldn't be a Youtuber without

Phil. Dan fell off his chair while playing ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s’ with Phil.

Phil made his first video when he was 14. Dan has a lot of existential crisis.

Dan usually wears black. Their ship name is ‘Phan’. They have a age differ-

ence of 4 years.

Dan and Phil are really awesome Youtubers. If you haven’t watched

Dan and Phil, I suggest you do!

Bring Me The Horizon is a British rock band often known as BMTH

that was formed in 2004 in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. BMTH have released

6 studio albums and two EP’s. My personal favorite is Sempiternal (which is

newer), but they’re all very excellent. The band released their first full

length album Count Your Blessings in 2006 and it was met with a great amount of controversy, because of what the songs are mainly about.

The members all came from different musical backgrounds of alter-

native, metal, and rock. Oliver Sykes, the lead singer, was mainly influenced by American metalcore and death-metal.

BMTH was officially formed in March 2004 when the members were only 15-17.

The name “Bring me the Horizon” came from the line in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, which stated “Now, bring me that horizon”. In the months following the release of their first album, BMTH were noticed by a local record company “Thirty

Days of Night Records” who signed them for a four album deal, which gained them more and more attention in their music

style. In 2006, the band won the Best British New Comer award at the Kerrang! Awards. The band's first tour was an un-

intentional success in 2008, they were only supposed to be playing local shows but ended up traveling all across the United

Kingdom. After a rough patch, they cleaned themselves up and changed their ways.

Bring me the Horizon are personally my favorite band and I think you should check them out.

Electronics device can be

very dangerous. Some are and some are not.

Recently, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has been known to explode. People don’t even know what is hap-

pening when the phones are exploding. I say, turn them off! DON’T CHARGE IT!

There are also systems out there that are good and not dangerous. The new PS4 Neo and the Xbox

Scorpio are both coming soon and some people say that the Xbox Scorpio is so much better than the other

Playstations. It is said that Scorpio has more graphics than the Playstations. Look for these new releases

coming soon.

Although electronics devices can be dangerous, they are useful in several ways. Be safe with them.

She has 3 kids; one in
