T4L Rollout• There as still been no announcement for T4L for the

majority of schools (except P5/P6) for 2010.• But we do know some things:

– Numbers will be similar to 2009 for all schools– Windows PCs will rollout with Windows 7 Enterprise– For Desktops and Laptops, Win 7 64-bit is expected– Adobe CS5 confirmed, MS Office 2010 expected– New brands/models of laptop computers on offer– DER Netbooks to be available on T4L this year– No longer based on Rollout Units, but Cash Value

T4L – Cash?• Since T4L and (CISP) started, allocations

have been based on “points” or “units”– 1 unit = 1 Windows Desktop PC– Schools were allocated units based on their

enrolment divided by 8 and split across 4 years– Laptops, Apple Macs and Servers cost

multiple/fractions of units– Now, units will be provided as a Cash Value– Cash can be applied ONLY to T4L products

present are onsite repairs

Behind the News on Apple Macs

• There is a known issue with accessing Behind the News video content from the ABC website on Apple Macs within DET

• It was thought the issue related to Firefox, but in fact it is a problem with the ABC website itself

• DET is currently working with both the ABC and Adobe in finding a solution

• Rob Pucillo will advise Mac schools when the problem has been resolved.
