Prep Work: Print, cut, and laminate the activity cards. Print and laminate the “I Can” visual directions page. Print the recording sheet “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Rhyme”.

Directions: Students will say the name of each picture to determine the two pictures that rhyme. They will match the number on the card to their paper and color the two pictures that make a rhyming match.

Directions: Students will say the name of the picture on the top of the card. They will determine which picture, at the bottom, has the same beginning sound. They will color the matching picture on their paper.

Prep Work: Print, cut, and laminate the letter cards. Print and laminate the “I Can” visual directions page {2 included}. Print the recording sheet “Itsy Bitsy Alphabet”. The extra practice pages also include an uppercase version and a lowercase version.

Directions: Students will identify the uppercase letter on the card. They will find the matching letter on their paper and color the raindrop to match the color of the letter on the card. (A lowercase version is also included but not pictured on this page.)

Directions: Students will count the mice on the clocks. They will match the letter on the card to their paper. They will record the number to show how many clocks. {To differentiate this activity you could have students draw circles to show how many mice are on the clock.}

Directions: For each square, students will determine the number represented by the dots. They will match the number card {or magnetic number} to the square to show how many. They can complete the optional recording sheet to show their work.

Prep Work: Print, cut, and laminate the counting mats {and number cards, if using}. Print and laminate the “I Can” visual directions page. Print the optional recording page “Nursery Numbers”. You can also use magnetic numbers for this activity.

Prep Work: Print, cut, and laminate the pattern cards {2 sets included}. Print and laminate the “I Can” visual directions page. Print recording page “Diddle DiddlePatterns” {optional}. Students will need plastic linking cubes for this activity.

Directions: Students will use plastic linking cubes to practice matching the colors and copying the pattern on the activity card. On the recording sheet, they will match the picture on the card to the paper and color the circles to show the pattern.
