FROM THE

EDITOR’S DESK

Dear Readers,

Greetings!

‘The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs

dreamers who do.’

This quote by Sarah Ban Breathnach has always motivated me in my life and I am ex-

tremely delighted to share it with all of you.

Our school’s guiding philosophy as reflects in our mission statement is ‘learning with

pleasure’ which trumps all other forms of learning. This philosophy has served us in cre-

ating not only dreamers and doers, but a perfect combination of the two.

Celebrations are out in the air and deep in the hearts of all Nath Vallians! It is the school’s

25th Birthday and the entire Nath Valley Family is excited about it! In my opinion, this is

the best time for all of us to start giving shape to our dreams!

Everyone can and must dream. It is our birthright. In simpler words, it is just a matter of a

few ‘Days’. It takes a clearly defined direction, a burning desire, an unwavering dedica-

tion, a gritty determination, an unmatched diligence and an unrelenting discipline to ulti-

mately make a dream come true!

Perhaps, God had planned it all for us because with the 25th year of the school comes the

10th year of the NVS Echo! In the course of these 10 years, I take immense pride in saying

that the NVS Echo has become an inseparable part of every Nath Vallian’s life. It was first

published in 2007 has improved by leaps and bounds by 2017. Back then, it was created in

a bid to incorporate our school’s objective of creative thinking and writing. Today, every

edition is a testimony of this ingenious tradition.

I see the success of NVS Echo as the realization of a big dream and willingly look for-

ward to many such lovely dreams coming true right in front of my eyes!

Happy dreaming! Start today!

25th FOUNDATION DAY

Every year on the 29th of June our school celebrates the foundation day with much pomp and splendor to mark

the end of yet another golden year. However , this year, there was all the more cause to celebrate- the completion

of the schools 25th year since the schools establishment .Of course, celebrations were in order and it was in this

light that this very special foundation day program was held.

The primary school performed a very interesting assembly which livened everybody’s spirits and got the day off

to a good start.

The function itself began with the address of the Chief Guest, Mr. Satish Mathur , and the speeches by various

trustees. This was followed by the award ceremony held for the merit holders of class X and XII.

After this, the students of class VII and IX presented a skit depicting our school’s journey. It was a very creative

sight to behold and entertained everybody. This preceded the launch of the new school website which was fol-

lowed by a slideshow which took us down the memory lane and showcased the progress of our school. This was

followed by the NVS vs. Alumni cricket and basketball matches, in both of which NVS won!

All in all, the Foundation Day 2017 was enjoyable and was a fitting milestone to the school’s silver jubilee year.

Hunger Pangs For The Heart “ There is sufficiency in the world for man’s need , but not for his greed”-M.K. GANDHI

A few students of our school took the design for change challenge organized by an NGO named the civic response team recently. The pro-

gram unfolded in four stages – Feel, Imagine, Do and Share. The students were asked to think of a problem prevalent in our school and sur-

roundings and were asked to think of a few solutions for the problem. Our school decided to take up the problem of food and water wastage .

surveys were conducted to find out the amount of food and water wasted per day. The results

were shocking. The amount of food wasted per day is enough to feed 150 people. The amount

of water wasted everyday is about a 100 litres . for the do and share part of the project the

students decided to make and stick posters depicting the same. Then the students went around

the classes spreading awareness by showing a heart melting video and telling them the statis-

tics of the survey. We hereby request all the students to not waste food and water .

Why?

Because 1 billion go to bed hungry each night. Because women in Rajasthan walk miles for a

pot of water .Otherwise wars in future will be fought over food and water and these will be

the most destructive.

What’s your vision for the next 25 years of NVS?

Mrs. Ravinder Gurudatta: I want the school to progress to greater heights and want the school to produce

world citizens . In the coming years I want the school to establish a college where the children which the

school has procured can stay for higher studies and can help in developing the city so that a platform for higher

education can be provided, I want the school to be technically advanced and hope that the values inculcated

within the children don’t perish amidst the technological development.

Mr. S. Hamprass: I want the school to yield more global citizens, politicians and research scientists. I want the

school to be more technologically sound and hope that more sports facilities can be provided to produce more

enabled sport persons.

Mrs.Babrekar: In the years to come I see Nath Valley School imparting quality education to its students using

the latest technology. Along with adopting the new changes in the education system in the future, school will

continue to instill the value system in its students as values imbibed at an early age helps in character building.

Mrs.Archana Kulkarni: My vision for the next 25 years is that we will establish a unique space in our school

with children having social and environmental consciousness at the core of everything we do. A gardening club

should be started and the member students will design a garden where they will plant flowers and vegetables.

Students, staff and parent volunteers will take an initiative to maintain the garden. In the coming 25 years I

would like to see our food services staff collecting ingredients from the garden in order to prepare lunch. The

garden will be watered with the recycled water. This will also help Children learn about landscaping.

Mrs.Thirani: Nath Valley would be dramatically different 25 years from now. Seeing the present trend and

technological advancement in the education world, I envision that 25 years from now there would be no teach-

ers but facilitators, allowing students to move away from rote learning, and learning to think more critically to

tackle real-world challenges and develop solutions for them, acquiring skills along with knowledge.

Learning would no more be confined to four walls of the classroom but beyond. Students would be able to in-

teract with other students, teachers, and renowned authors, scientists in any part of the world to clarify their

doubts, and acquire knowledge

"Books will soon be obselete in schools. Scholars will soon be instructed through the eye "Thomas Edison's

words would really come true.
