Enemies. Some of us "think" we have them and some of us "think" we don't. Sure, Satan is our true enemy, after all, "we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12 NLT). Clearly, we are fighting against Satan and winning because we belong to Christ....but what about our earthly enemies. The Word clearly tells us that we are not fighting against them, but still......what about them?!? When we find out that someone doesn't like us and is actively doing things to prove a point and to show us

    2

how much they do not care for us, our natural response is:

That's their problem, not mine! Forget them! If they don't like me, I don't like

them! I will treat them like they treat

me! Matthew 5:43 says, You have heard the law that says, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy...." The truth is, we all have heard and felt like we should hate, dislike, and mistreat, those that are against us and love, support, and be kind to those who are for us. That "seems" and "feels" like the right thing to do......but the Word tells us differently. ".............But I say, LOVE your enemies (Matthew 5:43)!" "LOVE my enemies?!?! Say what?!?!" But they don't deserve my love!

You don't understand how much they have put me through!

But they are sooooo hard to be nice to, let alone love!

Friend, I understand how you feel. Some people make it hard to love, but those are truly the people that need your love the most. So what about our enemies?!?! The Word tells us to........

"For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You!" Psalms 84:11-12

Anyone that knows me, knows that I love purses and jewelry. Now before you stop reading (lol) hear me out; I'm going somewhere with this. Last month for my birthday I decided to get myself a purse. I had my eyes on this particular bag for about a month and was saving up to get it. Well, once my bills were paid and I had some extra money to spend, I decided to head to the store. Well, to my dismay, once I arrived and ran to the purse section......it was gone! So, I did what any person would do (or maybe just me).....I started to complain! Lol! (Just being honest) "Ugh! If I would have gone ahead and got the bag when I saw it instead of being 'responsible Raven,' I would HAVE THE BAG! blah. blah, blah." Friend, my attitude was so bad, I think I saw someone I know in passing and did not even speak because I was soooo upset. (Please forgive me if you were that person) Well, even though I was disappointed I decided to go into another store and browse around, "knowing" that deep down inside I would not be able to find a bag that was that nice for

    2

that price. Well, to my surprise, not only was there another bag, but a WAY BETTER LOOKING BAG! Now you may be saying to yourself, "Raven, what is the point of this story?" It didn't seem like much of a big deal to me either until one morning during my quiet time the Lord reminded me of what happened and said, "Raven, many times you have felt rejected by something that YOU thought was GOOD and started to complain, whine, and have a pity party. Not realizing that I had something GREATER, something BETTER to give you if you would have just kept walking."

the same exact jaw dropping story as Sis. so-in -so that God can't use us or better yet, that our ministry and testimony won't be as effective! The devil is a liar!

God can and will use the part of your life that you think is useless! Stop comparing yourself to others

and stop disqualifying yourself! It is God who qualifies those who He calls and it is YOUR faith that will release His ability to make your name great......all

    for His glory!

    4. ALWAYS value your reputation with God more than your reputation with man.

Listen, sometimes we think that we have to say, preach, or post the most popular/attention catching thing because that other ministry does it and everyone and their momma loves it! For example, yes, you are called to live a life of purity and to abstain from sex until marriage, BUT although that is a part of your testimony that can and will be used to encourage someone else one day, does not mean that that is your only ministry or that that is what God called you to preach about today. That could be the ministry that Lisa was graced for! Your ministry could be the homeless, or your ministry could be designing appropriate clothes for saved women! Sure, you could post about Godly dating and keeping yourself for marriage and..

    Ministry

Work willingly at whatever you do, as

though you were working for the Lord

rather than for people. Colossians 3:23

    1. When it comes to dreams, plans, visions, and goals make sure they are Christ orchestrated, Christ

fueled, Christ centered, and Christ focused! Seems like a no brainer right? Wrong! Sometimes

in ministry, especially when your ministry begins to really take off if you're not careful dreams, goals, plans,

and visions become: - Self orchestrated

-Self fueled -Self centered -Self focused

A self centered ministry won't make a lasting impact! You CANNOT impress people with YOURSELF and the LORD simultaneously! Direct your attention away from yourself completely and place it on Him entirely!

It's all about pointing others to Him anyway!

    2. You cannot become all God made YOU to be if YOU doubt what He says about YOU!

Listen friend, what God says about you is truth.; the opinions of man or your fickle feelings are not. No

matter what people say or dont say, no matter how you may feel or dont feel God says that you are

chosen, anointed, and called. He sees YOU..always make sure that you are seeing yourself through His eyes

    and not others.

    3. Don't disqualify yourself! God uses those the world considers the least likely.

Sometimes we think that just because we don't have the

" upset because so in so doesn't want to be my friend anymore, or because I'm still single".....you get the message. Just like this woman, we have looked and looked and looked and tried and tried and tried to find something or someone, anyone to heal us and make us whole. This woman in the midst of her suffering made a choice....she made up her mind to be healed. This woman said, If I can just touch His robe, I will be healed (Matthew 9:21). Not only did she make up her mind, but she put some feet to her faith (for we walk by faith and not by sight 2 Corinthians 5:7) because she knew that one moment in the presence of Jesus could change her life. Notice she did not say, I "could" be healed or "maybe" I'll be healed......she said I WILL be healed. Friend, never underestimate a made up mind and some faith filled feet! Everything and everyone had failed this woman. Everything and everyone that probably worked for everybody else, didn't work for her. She had every reason to give up and just wait to die, never being changed. But even though no one and nothing seemed to be able to fix what was broken, she still believed and took the last ounce of faith that she had left

"Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said, Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well. And the woman was healed at

    that moment." Matthew 9:22 NLT

It's easy to quit, but it takes faith to press on to

    victory.

"She's got issues!" Have you ever said this or at least thought this about someone? Better yet, have you been this someone.....the someone who has issues that everybody and their momma knows about? In the ninth chapter of Matthew we meet a woman. She has no name, no "degree," no friends, but she does have something.....an issue, one of which she suffered with for 12 years. She was probably ostracized, persecuted, put down, and talked horribly about all because of her issue. Our issues may not be as severe as hers, so to speak, but many of us can relate. Issues such as sleepless nights, sadness, depression, loneliness, fear, anxiety, worry, broken heart, discouragement, feelings of despair and emptiness, etc., plagues many believers. Some of us even have "issues" that we feel are not that important! We say, "People are hungry and I'm

    Offended!

"Love is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

    1 Corinthians 13: 5 AMP offended fendid/

resentful or annoyed, typically as a result of a perceived insult.

Are you offended? Most people immediately will say, "Not at all! I don't let people bother me like that child!" BUT deep down you are either very resentful, irritated, or very annoyed because of a PERCEIVED insult! Today, we are going to talk about the trap of being offended, let some things go once and for all, and avoid this deceitful trap of the enemy in the future. We live in a world where people are not always nice. Sometimes people feel that they have a "right" to be mean, but then there are those that are mean and nasty for no apparent reason. One day they are your SISTER or BROTHER and the next......they don't even want to talk to you or acknowledge that you are alive. lol! At first, it doesn't "seem" to bother you, after all "people come and

people go," but the more you think about it, dwell on it, and the more you see their face pop up on your newsfeed (if there hasn't been a deletion lol!) you find yourself getting more and more irritated, annoyed, irked, and just plain aggravated by the mere mention of their name. Friend, this type of attitude is not pleasing to God. He knows that offense stunts our growth and keeps us from living the abundant life that He preordained for us to live. So how do we let it go and avoid the trap of being offended?
