It is my pleasure to welcome you to New Zealand’s premier event for the airport sector and related businesses. You are joining the key decision-makers and thought leaders in an infrastructure sector that is critical to the economic and social future of New Zealand.

Air services are the lifeblood of New Zealand tourism and trade, and airports play a major role in developing and strengthening those links. Airports make a vital contribution to healthy and vibrant communities by connecting businesses, families, friends, students and teachers, and by making full participation in many sporting and cultural events possible.

Innovation, technology and enabling growth are our areas of focus this year.

We have an outstanding line-up of speakers to inform and challenge you. Once again we have built in opportunities for discussion into the programme, and we encourage participants to raise questions with the speakers and particularly to have your say during the panel sessions.

We have more commercial exhibitors than before in the trade showcase area which adjoins the conference space. The programme provides generous opportunities for interaction, and we invite you to make full use of the time between sessions. Shared discussions with exhibitors and networking are an essential part of the value of the event.

This year we also have a pre-conference session with a technical focus and early morning sessions on both Thursday and Friday for regional airports

Our thanks to the sponsors, whose names you will see in this booklet. We particularly welcome Beca back as our Platinum sponsor. Our conference is an important element of the Association’s benefits to members, and its success is due in no small part to the support we receive.

Carly Wieland, Lime IntelligenceHarnessing the Power of Airline Intelligence for Growth

Carly Wieland has worked in the aviation industry for 18 years, focused on building airline business development and marketing strategies for airports. Her experience is extensive, ranging from market research and analysis, airline business cases, passenger demand trends, traffic forecasting, airline relationship development to building airport brands and market demand.

Carly has worked with multiple airports across Australia, Canada and New Zealand on a range of projects focused on airport strategic planning, and enhancing airport aeronautical revenue through growth in airline seat capacity, flights and passenger numbers.

Whilst continuing to work on airport projects, Carly has also established a niche product in the aviation industry called Lime Intelligence. The vision for this product is to ‘raise the bar’ for airports across Australia and New Zealand, through the development of an online passenger database that enables airports to better understand their business, airline performance and identify new opportunities for growth. Airports can now unlock the rich data provided to them by airlines.
