Circular Needles – 4 mm Crochet Hook – 5 mm DMC Woolly merino wool Gunmetal Grey 488.114 - 14 balls TENSION: 22 stitches x 32 rows on circular needle 4mm = 10x10cm.

PATTERN:* 2 rows moss stitch, 4 rows stocking stitch, 4 rows=4 knit, 4 purl, 4 rows=4 purl, 4 knit (creates small squares), 2 rows stocking stitch, 6 rows garter stitch, 4 rows stocking stitch, 8 rows double moss stitch, 2 rows stocking stitch, 8 rows=5 knit, 3 purl (for each coming row move 1 stitch forward, creating a diagonal pattern), 4 rows moss stitch, 2 rows stocking stitch, 6 rows=3 knit, 3purl, 4 rows=2 knit, 2purl, 1 knit, 1 purl, 2 rows stocking stitch, 8 rows garter stitch, 4 1 knit, 1 purl, 2 rows stocking stitch, 8 rows garter stitch, 4 rows stocking stitch, 4 rows double moss stitch, 3 rows stocking stitch.* Repeat this pattern all through the poncho.

TO BEGIN: Please note that this poncho is knitted from the top and down, beginning with the hood. After the hood, work upper part of poncho back and forth until vent is done. Last bit, work in the round.

Cast on 132 stitches for all sizes and knit 2 rows of moss stitch. Continue with pattern leaving 3 stitches in each side as edge stitches in garter stitch. When work measure 34 cm, knit 2 rows moss stitch, AT THE SAME TIME, decrease 40 stitches evenly spread over the row. This will leave you with 92 stitches left on the needle. Knit 4 rows garter stitch, AT THE SAME TIME, increase 18 stitches evenly spread over the row. This will leave you with will leave you with 110 stitches left on the needle. Place a marker here before you continue the knitting - this is where you measure your work form going forward. Continue as follows:

KNITTED PONCHO The hood is now finished and you will continue with the front. Please make sure you knit with circular needles to avoid any

seams.
