ECSEL-Austria is an industry-driven national research, devel-opment and innovation platform representing the technology areas of micro- and nanoelectronics, embedded systems and systems integration.
ElectronicbasedSystems(EbS)areconsideredasmajorenablersforgrowthandprosperity.AllmajorAustrianstakeholdersactiveintheEbSsegment,supportECSEL- Austriaasatechnologyplatform. Seminaltechnologiesare:materialsscience,embeddedsystemsandsoftwarearchitecture,powerelectronicsandelectronics,high-frequencytechnologyandRFID,andsensorsystems.Theyarethebasisforinnovativeappli-cationsinthefieldsofsmartproduction,smartmobility,ICT,energyefficiencyandambientassistedliving.
BasedonleanorganizationECSEL-Austriaensuresim-provedcommunicationamongallstakeholdersinAustria.ItaimstocreatesynergiesalongtheentirevaluechaininordertopromoteinnovationandleadershipinelectroniccomponentsandsystemsmadeinEurope.
ECSEL-AustriaactivitiesarecenteredaroundthemainstrengthsofResearch&TechnologyOrganizations(RTOs),academiaandindustryinAustriafacilitatingre-gionalbutalsoEuropeansupplychainswithexpressedfocusonapplicationsinthedomainofelectroniccompo-nentsandsystems.Themainfocuscurrentlycoverssys-temsforRF/RFID,SensorsandPowerelectronics.Theenablingtechnologiesincludematerials,architectureandtools,Safety&Security&Privacy,miniaturizedmodulesandsystems,andembeddedsoftwareforCyber-PhysicalSystems(CPS).
