Road Trip! From 9th16th of March 2013, over 1000 young people will Roadtrip from all corners of the country, calling on the Government to do their fair share in the fight to end extreme poverty. In 2012, the Government broke their promise to the world's poor by cuKng almost $3 billion of promised aid. 2013 is our last big chance to hold our leaders accountable for the promises they've made under the Millennium Development Goals. The Roadtrip is bringing together over 1000 of Australia's most passionate young people who will become leaders and ambassadors for the cause. Oaktree is now taking applicaPons for ambassadors and crowd funding support for the trip. In March 2013 young people will depart from capital ciPes on Roadtrips of 80 people each. These Roadtrips will travel together through local communiPes, speaking to everyday people aRending events and spreading the message Generate The 230 passionate and energized young Australians in the Generate Program have been busy raising awareness and funds through ambiPous and bold campaigning and events. In WA the Quiz night held on the 10 th of September was a great success raising $1450 to go towards Ba Futuru’s peace building program in East Timor. On InternaPonal Peace day WA Generators put on a Charity Music night ‘Peace support: Raising hope for Ba Futuru’. ConsisPng of great local musicians the event was a loud success raising $1100 and raising awareness about Ba Futuru and Oaktree’s work. If you missed out on the Generate program this year, applicaPons for the 2013 program open in October, just check the website. For more info on Generate go to hRp://theoaktree.org/generate/ Whole Team MeePng One for the diary the next whole team meePng for Oaktree WA will be held on the 31 st of October and this month will be Halloween themed! Our vision is to see extreme poverty ended within our lifePme. Since 1990, the world has already halved extreme poverty, and now is our chance to finish it. An anonymous donor has pledged to match the first $25,000 we crowd fund dollarfordollar! This means when we hit $25,000 it will immediately double to $50,000 our halfway mark!! You can be a part of it. Apply to be an ambassador or find out more at hRp://www.roadtrip2013.com.au/ or go to hRp://www.indiegogo.com/roadtrip?c=home
