#17 JACK O’CALLAHAN DEFENSE Height: 6’1” Weight: 185 Shoots: Right Nickname: OC Birth Date: July 24, 1957 Hometown: Charlestown, MA College: Boston University Professional Hockey Career: 1980-82 New Brunswick Hawks AHL 1982-87 Chicago Blackhawks NHL 1987-89 New Jersey Devils NHL Today: Jack was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks following his sophomore season at BU and played the majority of his career with the Blackhawks during the decade of the 1980’s. He finished the final two years of his career with the New Jersey Devils and retired from the NHL game at the end of the 1988-89 season. He was a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange for many years and a founding partner of Beanpot Financial Services in 1991 along with Jack Hughes (who was one of the final two players cut from the 1980 team). He sold his interest in Beanpot in 2013 and shortly thereafter joined Ziegler Capital Management as a Senior Managing Director. Jack and his wife Jenny live in the northern Chicago suburbs and he has two grown children, Rachael and Aaron. He sits on several charitable boards in Chicago and is active with the Chicago Blackhawks Alumni Association. 1980 Olympic Facts: Three days before the Olympics, in an exhibition match against the Soviet Union, Jack tore ligaments in his left knee.
