Have a Question? Looking for Answers?

Confused? Ask Kasandra.

The answer is in “The Cards”

Send your question to Ask Kasan-dra c/o Charmed in Company, Waretown Plaza, 529 Route 9,

Waretown, NJ 08758. Please in-clude your full name, birth date,

and town with your question. On-ly initials or first name will be

printed.

DEAR KASANDRA,

Will my child be healthy enough to be home “to stay”

by her 18th Birthday?

Thank you! Namaste

Jolene, Forked River

Dear Jolene,

The cards start off on a very positive note; Victory surround-ing the tarot card representing

mother. Your wish card is right next to a card signifying healing. I see new beginnings, and a new

path coupled with some chal-lenges. This looks like a year of new beginnings for your daugh-ter as well as the need for her to

get in touch with her inner strength. Although there appear

to be some delays in her pro-gress, I feel she will be home

this year. The cards are not clear as to whether it will be in time for her birthday. She appears to be putting forth a great deal of

effort in order to meet the goal. I feel once she is home things will be different than they have been in the past. It appears that having patience, faith, and love brings

with it reward and success.

According to your numbers, the next couple of months center

around relationships of all kinds. The emphasis during this time

will be on home and family. This

is also a good period for beauty and creative achievement. To-wards the end of the year and

into 2014, the focus is on consol-idation and adjustment. There are no major changes indicated during this period. It is a time to

establish order and routine in your daily life. It also indicates a period of opportunity to balance your life and not to allow per-sonal problems distort reality.

Your numbers also suggest you are entering into a period of spir-itual growth through understand-ing. There is a need to maintain

balance of emotions and to listen to your instincts. Cooperation and using diplomacy are also important during this period.

Your Tarot Card for the next six months or so is the Devil. This is a period that can be testing since you may find yourself tied down

with personal problems. You may feel trapped at times and bound by obligations. Remain flexible since any long term

planning should allow for the unforeseen. Following this peri-od you enter into a period ruled by the tarot card, The Tower. It too can bring with is challenges, but resulting in furthering your

spiritual development.

Your Personal Card for the year is the Eight of Diamonds. This is a very powerful card that indi-cates the opportunity to meet

your goals and major challenges. It also provides for the ability to acquire necessary money for a

specific purpose. Set your goals high, being confident you will be

successful.

Because your personal cards indicate some challenges this

year, I would recommend keep-ing the environment around you

bright and positive. There are several types of energies you may want to try at this time.

Carry or wear a piece of Petri-fied Wood and/or Orange Cal-

cite. Burn an orange and yellow candle, or a High John the Con-queror Candle. To enhance the

candle energy scent your candle with Charmed in Company’s

“Balance and Harmony” Essen-tial Oil Blend. (Don’t forget to

dab your wrists with a little of the oil also.) You may find at-

SPECIAL PLANETARY ASPECTS FOR

MAY 2013: Happy Birthday, Taurus! Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac with Venus as its ruling planet. Green is the color associated with Taurus,

although many Taureans adore the color blue. Taurus is loyal, persis-

tent, stubborn, determined and realistic. They make the best friends to have of the zodiac.

Many are bankers, accountants or real estate brokers.

On May 9 we will be experiencing

the Taurus Solar Eclipse (New Moon). Eclipses alter the Earth's electromagnetic field, realigning its grids and ley lines, as well as

our individual energy fields. Simi-lar to a computer upgrade, deleting old programs and uploading new

programs.

On May 10, 1994 there was a So-lar Eclipse very close to the degree of this Eclipse. Review what was happening in your life then and contemplate what you are ready

for now. With the asteroid, Pallas, the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars

by Mary Silvernail Master Astrologer For a Personal Reading call 609-242-3900

all aligned in Taurus, the equal relationship between masculine and feminine, and a co-creative partnership with Nature is very

important at this time. Compound-ing this is the conjunction of the dwarf planet, Sedna, which urges us to see the Earth and all its in-habitants as sacred and valuable. It also calls particular attention to our obligation to care for and pro-tect our oceans from whence we

came.

On May 24 the Sagittarius Lunar Eclipse is one of the most power-ful Full Moons of 2013. Due to the exact square of Uranus and

Pluto just a few days prior, it of-fers us opportunities for big break-throughs and shifts in conscious-ness. The truth of what is truly at

the root of the problem comes bubbling to the surface. Trust what

feels right and think with your heart and you will see the truth.

This is an ideal time for hypnothera-py, soul retrieval and other modalities to change what needs to be changed.

"The truth will set you free."

As per Joseph Campbell: “The goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your

nature with Nature.”

Many Bright and Abundant Blessings, ~ Mary Silvernail, ACI, RMT ~

itself is a new beginning for all of nature. Why not create

some new beginnings in your life with the help of Archangel Raguel? He will gladly help you get in touch with your highest purpose and align

yourself with the expansive vista of your future possibili-ties. In order to feel close to Raguel and ask for his loving

support in creating new oppor-tunities for you, simply put a

few Spring flowers in a vase or glass of water. Then light a white candle next to, but not too close to, the vase of flow-ers and simply ask for his as-sistance. Then be very quiet

and still and listen for his guid-ance. Trust what you hear or

feel. This will be Divine guid-ance. He will guide you toward the path that will give you the

greatest joy.

Archangel Raguel is wonderful at directing you towards dis-

covering your life’s work. He also will help create bal-

ance in your life wherever that is needed. Even by smoothing out disagreements and resolv-ing deep-seated issues within

you or with others.

In my readings and healing sessions at Hope Hypnosis & Holistic Center, many times the issue my client comes to me with is a lack of under-

standing their life’s purpose or help in resolving a misunder-standing in a relationship. I

call upon Archangel Raguel to Divinely give me the guidance they need. He is just waiting

in the wings to help.

On these glorious, warm, sun-ny days, it is also wonderful to ask the sweet Cherub Angels to surround you with all their

joy, fun and love. Happy Spring!

Many Divine Blessings of Love & Light.

IRON MAN 3 (2013)

CR: * * * (B) Directed by Shane Black

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce,

Rebecca Hall, Jon Favreau, Ben Kings-ley, Stephanie Szostak, James Badge Dale, Ty Broussard, William Sadler,

Dale Dickey, Miguel Ferrer, Paul Bet-tany

Disney//Rated PG-13//Action// 130 minutes

A complex threequel finds Robert Downey Jr. reprising Iron Man/Tony

Stark. In flashback, Stark recalls a long ago celebration with the beautiful inven-

tor (Rebecca Hall) of Extremis — a treatment to heal the disabled. Crippled scientist Aldrich Killian (Pearce), offers to fund Maya's research, but she turns him down. Fast forward to the present,

and Killian proposes working with Stark Industries. The company is now run by Pepper Potts who also rejects Killian's

offer. Meanwhile, the villainous Manda-rin (Kingsley) orchestrates a terrorist attack on Hollywood. Stark's security chief (Favreau) is among the injured,

prompting Tony to investigate, but before he can act on new information, Pepper and the United States President are kid-

napped. Effective twists and double-crosses, along with its stellar cast, place this Iron Man atop Marvel's comic book-

movie universe.

PAIN & GAIN (2013)

CR: * * (C) Directed by Michael Bay

Starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne John-son, Tony Shalhoub, Rebel Wilson, Anthony Mackie, Ed Harris, Rob

Corddry Paramount//Rated R//Action, Come-

dy//129 minutes Everyone took a pay cut to film this story based on actual events. Wahlberg bulked

up, to weigh-in at 212 pounds for his portrayal of Miami Sun Gym employee Daniel Lugo. Sick of working for pea-nuts, Lugo recruits Sun Gym coworker Adrian Doorbal (Mackie) and ex-con

Paul Doyle (Johnson), to kidnap wealthy businessman, and gym regular, Victor

Kershaw (Shalhoub). By use of torture, the trio plans to coerce Kershaw into

signing over his holdings — then have Kershaw killed. The Miami PD investi-gates, but after they fail to gather suffi-

cient evidence against the gang, private detective Ed Du Bois (Harris) steps in and the real pain begins. Long a pet project of director Michael Bay, we

sincerely hope his comedic treatment of this subject hits the right note, or else we'll be sorry we didn't wait for

the Discovery ID version.

THE BIG WEDDING (2013)

CR: -Bomb- Directed by Justin Zackham

Starring Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Diane Keaton, Amanda Sey-

fried, Topher Grace, Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams,

Lionsgate//Rated R//Comedy//99 minutes

Because their son (Grace) and his fiance (Seyfried) have lied to the bride's ultraconservative mother

(Sarandon), the groom's long-divorced parents (De Niro and Keaton) are

compelled to pretend they are a happily married couple during their son's pro-

tracted wedding festivities. Written and directed by "Bucket List" scribe Justin Zackham, one look at the hot-mess of a

trailer reveals a cartoonish comedy targeting parents who go into hock to marry off their demanding children.

Katherine Heigl attempts to revive her flagging career in a supporting role that does her no favors — and she has few

of her own to bestow on this bit of flounce.

minutes Ellis (Sheridan) and best pal Neckbone

(Lofland) are young Arkansas teens, who agree to help out a fugitive named Mud (McConaughey) in exchange for a motorboat the boys covet. The pair shuttles supplies to the island where

Mud is holed up repairing his getaway craft, and they further by ferrying

messages between Mud and his trashy

girlfriend Juniper (Witherspoon). The lads fend off a squad of bounty hunters led by a local tough (Joe Don Baker), whose son Mud killed in fight. A care-

fully calibrated story fraught with tension, the film features McConaugh-

ey's tour de force performance, and allows us to connect with the hopes

and dreams of the troubled boys at the center of the action.

Jackie Robinson's groundbreaking entry into major league baseball

is made accessible by a handful of finely tuned performances. The film

the way. Reverent to those involved in this endeavor, the story paints Branch Rickey, Jackie Robinson and Robin-son's wife as saints, only diverting

from that course to track Robinson's struggle to hold his temper in the arena of 1947 racism. The film shows far less

abuse than Robinson actually en-dured, insinuating that white America

was more tolerant than practices of that era indicate. Christopher Meloni is

captivating as Dodgers' manager, Leo Durocher while Alan Tudyk takes on

the role of hate-mongering Philadelph-ia Phillies manager Ben Chapman.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski Starring Tom Cruise, Morgan Free-

man, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Risebor-ough, Melissa Leo, Nikolaj Coster-

minutes Based on an unpublished graphic novel by Joseph Kosinski, this visually com-

pelling story is set 60 years in the future. Tom Cruise appears as Jack

Harper, a soldier stationed on a post-apocalyptic Earth along with partner

Victoria Olsen (Riseborough). The rest of mankind has relocated to Saturn's

moon Titan leaving Jack and Victoria behind to maintain and repair drones

that destroy extraterrestrial scavengers sent to steal Earth's resources. In case

they should fall into enemy hands, Jack and Victoria's memories have been

wiped in case they fall into enemy, but curiosity prompts Jack to explore plac-

es he is ordered to avoid by the mili-tary commander orbiting Earth (Leo). Though the plot is somewhat deriva-tive, the film is a pleasant, if not en-

lightening dream.

SCARY MOVIE 5 (2013)

CR: -Bomb- Directed by Malcolm D. Lee

Starring Simon Rex, Ashley Tisdale, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan, Terry Crews, Kate Walsh, Heather Locklear The Weinstein Company//Rated PG-

13//Comedy Spoofing both horrors and genre fare

alike, the critically panned "Scary Movie" franchise grossed $800 million dollars over a span of four films, and

has no intention of stopping there. Anna Faris is replaced, but won't be missed due to the casting of Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen (who just wants to help Lindsay, ya know), as newlyweds stalked by a malevolent "Paranormal" spirit. A medium is

hired, and arrives toting a device to extract the evil entity from their

dreams — a la "Inception." Mean-while, "Black Swan" is skewered when an aging ballerina (Locklear) sets out to insure that her daughter follows in

Mommy's toe shoes. Among other spoofed films are "127 Hours" and

"Rise of the Planet of the Apes," but if this chapter fails to nail the humor, and is a groan-fest. Given the six wonderful years elapsing since "Scary Movie 4's"

release, I'm hoping for a pleasantly long interval before we are treated to a

six-quel.

Vibrant flowers are popping up everywhere. The leaves turn to-

ward the sun directing the light to bask in the nourishing rays. Let’s incorporate their sunny visages

into our lives by creating a garden

energy to focus on during your day. Use them as a meditation

LAVENDER – (peace). Am I at peace and feel centered? SAGE – (wisdom) What have I learned that will benefit me

now? THYME – (protection) Do I

feel threatened or am I shielded from negativity?

BASIL – (money) What do I need to do to feel more finan-

cially secure? DILL – (health) Have I been

taking care of myself lately? ROSE- (love) What in my life

is in need of love? MINT- (refresh) What can I

do to stimulate and restore my situation/day?

ROSEMARY – (memory) What needs to be remembered? How can I improve memory? PARSLEY – (clearing) What

from my past is relevant today? OREGANO – (stimulating/

action) What do I need to com-plete today?

PEPPER – (caution) What am I avoiding or is not in my best

interest? ST. JOHNS WORT –

CONNECTING WITH THE CARDS: This unique deck will

be able to provide different forms of guidance every time

you use it. Initially, connect with the cards using this four-step

process. Step 1: Turn over a card and write down your initial

FEELING when seeing it. Step 2: Look into the card and de-scribe what you like or what

aspect(s) draws your attention. Step 3: Smell the scent associat-ed with the card. How does the

scent make you feel? What comes to mind as you look at the

picture and smell the herb/oil? Step 4:Write down how your

thoughts/feelings relate to ques-tions associated with the card. Overtime you will learn how your garden deck answers or

presents you with guidance. You may wish to start a journal to keep track of your thoughts

while using your deck. TENDING YOUR GARDEN

(card uses): DAILY CARD: Shuffle your

garden deck. Think about your day and pull a card. The herb or flower you pick will relate to a

type of energy. Use the key word next to each herb/flower

tool or as a quick mental reset during the day.

YOU WILL NEED: 1. A camera or a phone capa-

ble of taking pictures, 2. Images of the flowers and herbs men-tioned below, 3. Either a com-

puter, cardstock paper, and printer or have your film devel-

oped on 3 x 5 paper and glue cardstock to the back to create firm cards. 4. Essential oil or

herb associated with each photo (optional)

FLOWERS & HERBS:

name and the question to inspire your brainstorming and to incor-porate into your day. How does it relate? What action can you take to improve your day based upon it? How does it make you feel?

For example if you pulled laven-der, you would reflect on its mes-

sage of peace and ask yourself questions relating to it. Am I at peace and feel centered? What

keeps me from feeling peaceful? Do I need to keep the peace to-

day? Imagine yourself surrounded by lavender, while inhaling its

scent. This will help you achieve peace of mind.

COMMUNICATION: See how friends & family interpret the

cards. It may provide insight into their lives or create a starting point

for discussions. MEDITATION: View a card during your day. Jot down

thoughts and feelings evoked when looking at it. Use it to take a

mini break by meditating on its image. Look into the picture until you feel immersed within its im-

age. FORGET ME NOT: Select a

card that has qualities that make you feel a certain way. For exam-ple post the lavender card when you want to feel more at peace.

Put up the pepper card to remind you to be more cautious, etc. Use your garden deck to feel

sunny inside even when the sunny weather takes a vacation. If you

wish to incorporate dried herbs or essential oils into your garden

BARNEGAT On April 25th at 11:30pm, Ptl. Timothy Bradshaw arrested Paul Killelea, 55, of Lakewood for DWI after stopping his vehicle on West Bay Avenue near the Parkway en-trance for failing to maintain lane of travel. Killelea's vehicle was impounded in accordance with John's Law. He was processed and released with sum-monses for DWI, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane of travel. On April 25th at 2:30pm, Ptl. Tim-othy Bradshaw arrested Michael Riley, 32, of Barnegat for possession of heroin in connection with a narcotics investigation. The heroin was recovered during a consent search of Riley's Freedom Hills Blvd residence. Riley was charged with 3rd degree possession of heroin and his bail was set at $2,000. He was released after posting bail. On April 27th At 8:32pm Barnegat police officers responded to the southbound lanes of Barnegat Blvd North for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle. Upon arrival officers discovered that a 17 year old Barnegat female was struck south of Ravenwood Blvd by a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. The pedestrian was treated on scene by Barnegat First Aid squad and was transported to the Elizabeth V. Edwards School where a landing zone was established. She was then airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical

Center by MONOC medevac heli-copter with shoulder, arm, and leg injuries. The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was in its lane of travel when the pedestrian abruptly stepped off of the curb and into the roadway. There were no indications that the vehicle was speeding. No summonses were issued to the driver of the vehicle. On April 23rd at 12pm, members of the Barnegat Police Narcotics Unit arrested Joseph Cook, 27, and Brooke Cook, 28, of Barnegat after responding to a report of a drug overdose at the Barnegat Motel. For most taxpayers, the tax deadline has passed. But planning for next year can start now. The IRS reminds taxpayers that being organized and planning ahead can save time and money in 2014. Here are six things you can do now to make next April 15 easier. Adjust your withholding. Each year, millions of American work-ers have far more taxes withheld from their pay than is required. Now is a good time to review your withholding to make the taxes withheld from your pay closer to the taxes you’ll owe for this year. This is especially true if you nor-

mally get a large refund and you would like more money in your paycheck. If you owed tax when you filed, you may need to in-crease the federal income tax withheld from your wages. Use the IRS Withholding Calculator at IRS.gov to complete a new

Form W-4, Employee's With-holding Allowance Certificate. Store your return in a safe place. Put your 2012 tax return and supporting documents some-where safe. If you need to refer to your return in the future, you’ll know where to find it. For

example, you may need a copy of your return when applying for a home loan or financial aid. You can also use it as a helpful guide for next year's return. Organize your records. Estab-lish one location where everyone in your household can put tax-related records during the year. This will avoid a scramble for misplaced mileage logs or chari-ty receipts come tax time. Shop for a tax professional. If you use a tax professional to help you with tax planning, start your search now. You’ll have more time when you're not up against a deadline or anxious to receive your tax refund. Choose a tax professional wisely. You’re ultimately responsible for the accuracy of your own return regardless of who prepares it. Find tips for choosing a preparer at IRS.gov. Consider itemizing deduc-tions. If you usually claim a standard deduction, you may be able to reduce your taxes if you

itemize deductions instead. If your itemized deductions typi-cally fall just below your stand-ard deduction, you can ‘bundle’ your deductions. For example, an early or extra mortgage pay-ment or property tax payment, or a planned donation to charity could equal some tax savings. See the Schedule A, Itemized Deductions, instructions for the list of items you can deduct. Planning an approach now that works best for you can pay off at tax time next year.

Keep up with changes. Find out about tax law changes, helpful tips and IRS announcements all year by subscribing to IRS Tax Tips through IRS.gov or IRS2Go, the mobile app from the IRS. The IRS issues tips regularly during the summer and tax filing season. You can find forms and publica-tions at IRS.gov or order them by calling: 800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676).
