(50.000 m3 , 97,5% is water)
• Max no of fish per farm is 200.000.
• Each pen can hold about 1000 tons of
fish –equal to 2000 cows of 500 kg!
• The license given by the government is
limit to max biomass per site (MTB)
• In all, 60 different regulations regulates

Salmon farming in 3 min…
3 focus areas
1. Capture of N, P and CO2 .
2. Production of marine raw materials for
fishfeed.
3. New species in aquaculture
• industrial «mass production».
Why is this so important?
• We want to reduce our footprint.
• We want to secure our future as
fishfarmer.

How much Nitrogen, Phosphor and CO2 can
we catch?
• 2,4 kg Nitrogen per ton wet
weight of sugerkelp.
• 340 gr phosphor per ton wet
weight of sugerkelp.
• 26,3 kg C per ton wet weight
equal 100 kg CO2 per ton wet
weight.
