Legal Requirements

Laws in Barbados eliminate advance notice requirements. A marriage ceremony can take place as soon as a license is obtained. Marriage License Requirements Application for a marriage license must be made by both parties in person at the Ministry of Home Affairs Office from Monday to Friday (8:30 am to 3:00 pm). Your Weddings Coordinator will accompany you on this trip to obtain your marriage license. Documents Required

Valid Passports or the original certified copies of the applicant’s birth certificate.

If either party was married previously and widowed, a certified copy of the Marriage Certificate and a Death Certificate is required in respect of the deceased spouse.

If either party was divorced, an original Decree Absolute of a certified copy of

Final Judgment, not the Decree Nisi.

If the Bride or Groom is not a citizen or resident of Barbados, return airline

tickets must be presented.

Kindly inform your wedding coordinator of your nationality, in the event that any other documentation is required.
