OCTOBER / NOVEMBER 2012 CINEMA CINEMA NOTES At Triskel Christchurch we strive not only to bring the best in cultural and alternative cinema to Cork City, but also a programme that is rich and varied in content. As you can see from this brochure, the current programme is no exception. There is the depression-era gangster drama Lawless alongside the expressionistic experience that is Keyhole. Woody Allen continues his European odyssey with To Rome With Love, while Asghar Farhadi - whose 2011 film A Separation was shown last year at Triskel Christchurch - directs the thoughtful and compelling About Elly. “An exhilarating, audacious, lunatic rocket-ride” is how Empire describes Holy Motors, while Barbara is a must for anyone who enjoyed The Lives Of Others. We have also brought back by popular demand films such as Shut Up And Play The Hits, A Royal Affair and The Imposter. Black Sun Cinema presents a special showcase of Lithuanian experimental cinema, and for halloween Twisted Celluloid screens five(!) horror movie previews that will not be seen in Irish cinemas for many months yet.
