Disney Legend and animator Andreas Deja discusses the techniques and fundamentals that defined this distinguished group. After the 3pm program, Andreas Deja will be available to sign copies of his new book, The Nine Old Men: Lessons, Techniques, and Inspiration from Disney’s Great Animators, which will be available for purchase on site. James shares his methods and demonstrates his approach to hand-drawn animation as students get a chance to apply these techniques to their own work.

Illustrator Claire Keane’s first children’s book, Once Upon a Cloud, is an enchanting ride following one little girl’s journey of finding a special gift for her mother. Using colorful chalk pastels, Keane created dreamlike scenes that range in color, texture, and technique. In this workshop, learn tips and tricks to illustrate using the magical (and a bit messy) medium of pastels. During the workshop, Keane will present her path from Visual Development Animator at Walt Disney Animation Studios to independent illustrator. Supplies are included.
