Dear Fellow Sklleagues,
On behalf of your Executive Board, I like to take this opportunity to welcome you back after ourSummer Break to our regular monthly luncheons. We started off with our September Luncheonat the De Luca Restaurant in El Segundo and once again it was a great luncheon. Noteworthy is,that it was our clubs Second Green Luncheon, thanks to our Vice-President Guido Bauerand his company for arranging it.
The fall season is not far off and once again it is time to open our hearts and pocketbooks as weneed each and everyones help to contribute. We always can use additional prizes or monetarydonations to help us fund our annual Albert Schmid Charity Challenge in order to allow someInner City Youngsters to experience our beautiful California.
This years trip is planned for November and will include Monterey and San Francisco and asalways, all this is only possible with your donations. Jeff Karnes, our Jr. SIUSA Rep, has onceagain taken on the Chairmanship of this event and he and his committee have worked tirelessduring the summer to collect some beautiful prizes; so please be generous and bid for a varietyof great airline tickets, trips and hotel stays.
We have been talking for a long time about updating our Skl Los Angeles Web Site and Iam happy to announce today that with the help of our friend and Sklleague Dave Barela of the
Denver Club we are working on our new website. The new website will reflect the Spirit of LosAngeles and our club.
To finance our new website, the Board has agreed to sell a limited amount of Sponsorships. Each Sponsor will be allowed to place their own logo at the bottom of the new website, and byclicking their logo it will bring the visitor to the site to the sponsors own website. Sponsorshipsare for the period of one year, after which they can be renewed, or other sponsors may beadded. This arrangement will allow us to make our website nearly self liquidating and at thesame time bring it up to date. In addition, the website will be used to announce our monthlyluncheons and even allow you, our members, to RSVP for the luncheons. Yes, it will be host forour Monthly Clarion, general announcements, New Member Application Forms, as well as featureour own Photo Gallery. If interested in Sponsorship, please contact Sklleague Klaus Billep at310-393-0261
Before I close, let me remind all of you of our upcoming Skl International World Congress thatwill be held this year in Budapest, Hungary, from November 1 6, 2009. May I encourage youto attend this Congress, as it will allow you to experience the Skl Spirit, make new friends fromaround the Globe while enjoying the beautiful and historic city of Budapest and the greatlegendary hospitality of Hungary. Please join us!
Best regards and Skl,
