MoDOT Projects in Kansas City Region Support Economic Development Through Cost-Share PartnershipsPresident Barack Obama visited Claycomo in late September to talk about economic development in the region and throughout the nation, and a reliable transportation system must be in place to support growth. The MoDOT works closely with area communities and stakeholders to find ways to fund projects to support growing needs and foster economic development. MoDOT has several projects in Kansas City under construction now or in the near future, ultimately supporting economic development. A few of these projects include: Flintlock Flyover project, I-35 and Route 91 Interchange in Liberty and KCMO, Route 10 Widening project, Pleasant Valley Road Interchange and I-9 and Tiffany Springs Parkway

“These projects were made possible solely on 50/50 cost-share partnerships,” said MoDOT Kansas City District Engineer Dan Niec. “Each project will support local companies, create additional jobs by putting people to work on our highways, and promote economic development.”
