October 2014
I love October! I love all the beautiful colors that we’re surrounded by. Our Oc-
tober meeting will be an opportunity to play with texture, color and fabric. Mad-
die and Lyn have put a great no stress playful program together for us to enjoy.
The Saturday workshop is designed for you to continue with the process and
make something beautiful from your new fabric!
The guild has so much going on and ways for you to get involved. There’s the
beautiful travel quilt, going to the Gathering that needs volunteers. Pick up fabric
at the meeting and make blocks for next year’s raffle quilt. Make a charity quilt
to cheer someone up. Sign up for the mystery bus trip. Go on a retreat. Make
blocks to swap. Work on your challenge quilt for the quilt show and lots more!
A big thanks to all for a great September meeting! There was a lot of news to
share and swapping fabric was fun! Have you started making your mug rug yet?
Don’t forget to have it ready for the Dec. meeting. We’re also going to continue
with the door prizes as long as we have fat quarters. Please remember to bring a
fat quarter to donate and give it to Liz or Susan when you check in. Your gener-
osity is greatly appreciated. Remember that we open the doors at 6 to socialize
and solve the world’s problems! See you all on October 16th.

UPDATE ON MYSTERY BUS TRIP This year the board has approved that we charge $25 (non refundable) per person for the bus. A trip is being
thought about for 2nd Saturday in March 2015 To make this a firm decision we need to see a probable com-
mitment from at least 25-30 people. There will be a sheet to sign at October meeting to show interest. If we
do get the 25-30 we will move forward otherwise we will not have a trip this year. Guests will be welcome to
try to fill the bus
For new members - this is an all day (usually 8-5 or so) trip to 2-3 quilt
shops. We bring our lunch and eat on the bus and usually fun and
games on trip. Obviously a mystery where the bus goes but good times
usually had by all.
