WORKING BEE Thanks to everyone who has helped out over the last month to get our school grounds ready for the fete. It’s almost our last chance to show how proud we are of our school & make it look amazing for the big day. If you can help out, please come along to the final working bees which will be held on Friday 21 October & Friday 28 October between 3:30 and 4.30 pm.

MULCHING Can you spare an hour or two to help us spread the piles of mulch in the carpark around the school grounds. It needs to go into all the garden beds & also the whole of the lower playground area. You can come in anytime during the week (including school hours) or this weekend. There are two wheelbarrows at the school to use or feel free to bring your own.

FREE MULCH Parents who help with mulching will be given first rights to take any left-over mulch, but it MUST to be collected by Thursday 28 October.

H AY BALES FOR SALE Speaking of mulching – we’ll have some used hay bales for sale @ $6 each – great for mulching. They will be used for main stage seating at the Fete & can be taken home at the end of the day.

WHO WILL THE MAIN STAGE ENTERTAINMENT BE? There will be a variety Crafers Primary School acts including an historic re-enactment of days gone by from the Tuesday Afternoon Performance Group, the String Group will play some tunes for us by fiddle, with the Assembly Band and Choir performing an eclectic mix of songs dating as far back as the 1800’s. Further Crafers Primary School acts to grace the stage will be the Drumming Group thumping out some awesome beats and the String Orchestra taking us to another world with their sublime sounds.

A performance especially for the little ones in the crowd, Kezzarumba (Kerryn Ness) is an Adelaide Hills based children's entertainer who will be performing some original & more familiar kids & family friendly songs so that everyone can join in. Kezzarumba’s repertoire extends to birthday parties etc. & also includes a craft & song writing component.

Entertainment will also be provided by children from as young as four years, dancing to their heart’s content with the Hills Ballet School treating us to the themed performance, “At the Beach”.

RAFFLE TICKETS ARE DUE BACK Thanks to all the wonderful businesses who donated prizes for the raffle & a big thanks to the wonderful

Crafers Primary parents who walked the streets collecting them & have put together an amazing prize pool.

Please remember that raffle ticket books and money are due back to the school this Friday, 21 October.

All books must be returned sold or unsold.

If you can sell more tickets by Friday, please see Carol or Sophie at the front desk.

ROOMS 12 & 13 (JUMBLE SALE

& SECOND HAND BOOKS) Rooms 12 & 13 still need books and second hand goods! It would be fantastic if

each family could spend five minutes going through their old books and clutter to see if you could find a bag or box to donate by this Friday. Please leave your donations in the upstairs teaching block storeroom between 3 pm and 3.30 pm from Tuesday to Friday – just follow the signs.

Trestle tables – Room 13 needs at least 4

trestle tables – can you help? Also, if you have any tubs that can be used to display books, we’d love to borrow them. If you can help please contact Taryn [email protected]

Assistance required for set up – please contact Taryn if you can help set up on Friday arvo or early Saturday. A roster for assistance on the stand will go out soon, contact Taryn if you have a time preference for helping.

ROOM 11 (GAME/ PHOTO BOOTH) A huge thank you from Room 11 for

all the wonderful prize donations

to be used on our games stall – we are still happy to

receive more in the purple wheelie bin in Room 11.

Reminder also to Room 11 parents and students

to volunteer to help run the stall on the day- there is a list attached to the wheelie bin or can be done straight into the online register.

Will your class win the $100 voucher?

ROOM 1 (MACARON/LUCKY DIP)

A big thank-you to those who have donated

eggs & cash towards making the macarons & also to those who have put their name down to man

the stall. Any cash & egg donations can be

left at the office by Friday 21st October. I plan to go

shopping & empty out the supermarkets of almond meal, eggs & icing sugar this weekend!

Roster – please email Tara at [email protected]

with your preferred times to help on the day – NB set up and pack up may need some additional hands.

OLD SCHOLARS REUNION There will be a group photo of old scholars on stage at

2.15 pm on Fete Day. Former scholars, and staff, as well as current students with parents of previous generations that

attended CPS are all invited to be part of this record of the school's history.

If you would like an alumni name tag for the day,

please email [email protected] with your current, maiden and nick names as well as the years you attended Crafers Primary.

A casual BYO ‘drinks and memories’ Reunion for old

scholars and teachers at the Stirling RSL (Apex Park, off Merrion Terrace) from 4.30 pm, with a sausage sizzle available until 8 pm. For information, contact Meredith Rasch on 0417 397 448 or visit ‘Crafers Primary School Reunion’ on Facebook.

ROOM 2 & 4 (CRAFERS

CHARACTERS CAFE) We would love to replicate the feel of the Crafers school eras in the café. So we would love to hear

from anyone who can lend us a vinyl record or two of popular music across the years for us to

play at the Café. If you can help, please email [email protected]
