  • Diocesan Catholic Ministries Appeal (CMA)

The Annual Diocesan Catholic Ministries Appeal (CMA), formerly known as the Annual Diocesan Ap-peal, is a primary source of funding to help sustain and expand ministries in the

114 parishes, 30 schools, seminary, programs and de-partments of the diocesan church. Our parish goal for this year is $42,680.00. As of September 23rd update we are at $26,899.00 or 63% of our goal. We wish to thank everyone who has made a donation to the appeal and encourage others to prayerful-ly consider making a donation to the appeal. Donation envelopes are at the end of the pews or at the entrances to the church. You may also go online at http://www.dow.org/CMA .

Pro-life Month: October is also the month dedicated to defend life and to pray for the right of life. Here in our parish we have a strong conviction that human life must be respected from conception to natural death. We use the Rosary as a weapon to fight against the mentality that is op-posed to the will of our Creator. Let us keep in our prayers all legislators and political leaders who work for the common good, that they may realize their responsibility and foster respect-for- life from conception to natural death. We need to be the voice of those who cannot defend themselves, the innocent and the vulnerable. I invite everyone to support any activity we may have for respect-for-life during this month. Especially the 40 days for life. At the entrances of the church you may sign up for an hour to go and pray in a peaceful campaign in front of Plan Parenthood in Mankato. Thank you: thanks to all those volunteers who made a successful day last Sunday at the Mum Fest. It was really a day of fellowship and fun. Prayers: Please pray for me as I will be visiting my siblings, nieces and nephews in Argentina. I will be back in three weeks. On Sunday, October 5, the III Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops addressing The Pastoral Challenges of the Family in the Context of Evangelization will commence in Rome. A prayer composed by Pope Francis may be said during these days of the Synod asking the Lord for wisdom and help, especially during the two weeks of the Synod.

    PASTOR’S MESSAGE 3

Fatima Rosary Rally Please join us Sat., Oct., 11, at 12:00 Noon, at the Buffalo Statue, corner of Main St., & Riverfront Dr., across from the Blue Earth County Library, Mankato, for the 8th annual America Needs Fatima Rosary Rally, to be prayed in accordance with Our Lady of Fatima's message, to offer repara-tion for sin, blasphemy, outrages, and to jumpstart luke-warm Catho-

lics. The America Needs Fatima Campaign is sponsor-ing Public Square Rosary Rallies in cities all over Amer-ica. Their goal for this year is 12,000 rallies, and as I type this, there are 11,125 scheduled. Invite your friends and family and be included in this holy event. Please dress for the weather, and bring a lawn chair, if you'd like.

    - Prayer to the Holy Family for the Synod Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate the splendor of true love, to you we turn with trust. Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that our families too may be places of communion and prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel and small domestic Churches. Holy Family of Nazareth,

may families never again experience violence, rejection and division: may all who have been hurt or scandalized find ready comfort and healing. Holy Family of Nazareth, may the approaching Synod of Bishops make us once more mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of the family, and its beauty in God’s plan. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, graciously hear our prayer. Amen.

Minister Schedule for October 11-12, 2014
