PowerPoint presentations are generated from standardized templates. Theyare incorporated in the ‘Corporate Presenter’ from DB Systel’s BKU system.The template design is highly automated and contains comprehensivelibraries with slide layouts, graphics and layout elements in DB design. Manyof your proposals for improvements and optimization were incorporated inthe current edition of the Corporate Presenter. They all now lead to anextended scope of design options. The improvements allow for morecompact, yet striking, structured and above all more emotionalpresentations.

In addition to the ‘Light Version’, the ‘Full Version’ contains not only theextended slide and elements library (with logos, graphics, symbols), but alsoadditional functionalities—including automated production of informationgraphics, an archive system and the automated corporate design check. The ‘FullVersion’ is available on your BKU-terminal or directly on the DB Systel serviceportal.

The new Corporate Presenter:

The Corporate Presenter providesnew templates with extended designpossibilities for the layout of coverand content pages.

Under the tab Templates (1) you willfind a comprehensive slides library withmany ready-made information graphicsand tables that can be extended byyour own individual templates.

The tab Media (2) provides directaccess to the extensive image databaseof the DB Mediathek. You can use itafter successful registration. DBemployees can use journalistic andeditorial images in their presentationsfree of charge. Yellow notice fields (3)in the template slides offer assistanceand show details on how to use theCorporate Presenter.

Please ensure you choose the correctcompany name. The templates for yourpresentation are then automaticallyprovided and contain the right brandidentification through DB brand logo (4) and division color (5).

The typeface DB Office (6) of our typesystem DB Type is already included inthe templates.

New templates:

Cover pages

Six layout templates are available for the design of cover pages.They allow for a flexible distribution of space and for larger and above allmore emotional images (1).

Additional logos (2) can be placed in the footer. Color panes (3) in the division’sidentification color and the brand logo are used for sender identification.Presentations of the DB Group and internal presentations can be designedwithout identification color (4). Sender details (5) are placed at the bottom leftof the page (this replaces the previously used list text with overline.)



Content pages

The design scope for content pages has been extended and bringsmore variety to the layout templates.

The DB corner element has been omitted on content pages in favor of a moregenerous and clean layout. Pages contain a gray background (1) as standard.Thus, contents can be better structured and visually emphasized.

Images may be used full format (2), e. g. on chapter titles. In this case the logois omitted. On chapter titles, text fields (3) with a semi transparent or coloredbackground can be placed freely.

Application Examples



Sender identification through brand and color

On cover pages, color panes in the division color are used for senderidentification, just as they are in print media.

Presentation formats 4:3 and 16:9

Standard format for DB PowerPointpresentations is 27.5 x 19.05 cm.

This aspect ratio guarantees an almostfull format printout on DIN A4 paperand is applicable for screenpresentations with a 4:3 format.

Alternatively, presentations can becreated in 16:9 format to guarantee anoptimum use of the wide screen format.However, this is only useful forprojectors or flat screens supportingthis format.In this case the layout must then beoptimized for the 16:9 aspect ratio inorder to prevent distorted images.For this format, templates are offeredwhich are not linked to thefunctionalities of the corporatepresenter.

Colors

For a transitional period, the CorporatePresenter uses the RGB colordefinitions of 2015, to guarantee amaximum compatibility with existingPPT presentations. In the course of afuture update, the colors will beadapted to the current standard of thecorporate colors. Find the predefined colors

Availability

The DB Corporate Presenter is availablefor all BKU-terminals (except Ready-to-Clients). The system requiresOffice 2003 and is not available forOffice 97.

User manual

The DB Corporate Presenter usermanual (only in German) is acomprehensive documentation of allfunctionalities. Included are hints thathelp you to understand how to usePowerPoint.

You will find it after opening a DBtemplate under ‘Help’ (question markfar right) and in the next window under‘Help’ (top left.)

Note on printing PPT slideswith shadows

To preserve shadows, print documentswith ‘high quality’. Please do thefollowing:

Choose:File > Print > Full format slideand tick ‘high quality’ in the printdialog (underneath or next to ‘scale tofit paper’.)

Creating PPT presentations

Various input screens help you to choose the required template. Search criteriamay be details about company, speaker, presentation venue and so on. Slides,diagrams, maps, pictographs and images specifically sorted by topics and targetgroups are available. The DB Corporate Presenter can even verify if yourpresentation follows the corporate design specifications (full version only)—everyslide is checked for the correct colors, fonts, dimensions, et cetera.

Standardized presentation templates guarantee a homogeneous visual appearanceof PowerPoint presentations.

The following functionalities are an integral part of the Corporate Presenter:

Better user friendliness

Simplified procedure: access all functionalities via a toolbar and text interfaces.No further applications are necessary.Quick access to content: use the insert interface to load prepared standardslides of the relevant company, example slides, diagrams, text modules, imagesand so on. One mouse click, and the content is loaded into your presentation.Save presentations: the pre-defined structure of your personal archive helpsyou to maintain a comprehensible data storage.Create handouts: the handout-generator creates printouts professionally.Templates for hassle-free creation of CD-ROM labels (cover, back and insert.)

Less use of servers and memory

Optimize and structure content: use optimized images and multimedia filesfrom the content-pool to receive a data compression of up to 75%.Minimize file size: the compression function in the Corporate Presenter reducesimages and linked content to an optimal file size. The reduction of the PPT sizemay be up to 90%.

The Corporate Presenter offers a wide rangeof presentation templates (screen content manager ofthe full version.)

Corporate design consistency

Content according to DB Group CD: templates with text,suggestions for headlines, organization charts, diagrams,tables and a library with graphical elements (e.g. maps,logos, icons) are available for a group-wide consistentcommunication and visual appearance.Design: use the insert interface to integrate the specifiedcolors into your presentation. The available layout grid inthe templates helps to structure the content.Corporate Design Check: let the DB Corporate Presenterverify if your presentation follows the corporate designspecifications—every slide is checked for the correctcolors, fonts, and dimensions.

The design-check ensures that PowerPoint presentations follow the corporate designguidelines and makes corrections where applicable.
