rely on our experience on the commitment of our people that has

never failed during the last difficult months and on the passion that

distinguishes Saipem In this period of time we have been the only

drilling contractor to take an ultradeep water drillship out from a

shipyard with the aim to employ her in a challenging environment

like the US We have surprised the market our competitors and

During the Pick Up and the Make Up of the 18 34 Housing when the Driller

pulled the joint up from the catwalk before doing the Stab-In I noticed

that the ship rolled too much and it was very difficult to connect it with the

joint on the Rotary Table I stopped the operation we installed a sheave so

that housing could be controlled with the winch and it was not necessary for

people to use hands to control it The Make up was done successfully

without any problem

Could you tell us about your experience in Saipem

My experience in Saipem started in 1999 immediately after

finishing my Secondary School where I studied Electronic

Engineering

I was hired as an electronic technician I started my work

experience immediately abroad in a shipyard in South Korea where

I stayed for 18 months to follow the entire construction of SAIPEM

10000 that at the time revolutionized the way we do drilling The

first dual activity drilling ship ever built As I live in Lombardy I

have never had to deal with the sea so I got to know the naval

systems installed on board and familiarized myself with the

advanced drilling systems An amazing experience that gave me a

lot both at personal and professional levels

After 13 years of offshore activity I had the opportunity to return

to the office where I still deal with the electrical and electronic

systems of the entire drilling fleet

Regarding CAA what is your role in this Project

Few months ago I received communication from C Cigliano ndash CAA

Project Manager - that I had been assigned by ASDOF (Offshore

that what we are doing today can actually lead to concrete results

in the future

Do you find any advantage in being able to work in a program

with an interdisciplinary team If so which ones

This Project allows me to collaborate especially with the HR

department and understand better the processes which regulate

the Human Resources Management and Development This is a

support for my daily activities when interacting with offshore

Whats your name

Alberto Quintini born in Lodi on July 17 1975

Where do you work and what do you do

I work in San Donato Milanese and Im part of the

| 14

CAA Program

Drilling Assets and Warehouses Management) to the SME (subject

matter expert) role for the electrical and electronic part

I have considerable experience on-board and I know personally

most of the population of the electrical department But this was a

great surprise and I reacted positively

CAA Program

Regarding the CAA Program what are the activities that have

seen you most involved in this last year

At the beginning the ones that saw me most involved in have been

the initial revision of the Professional Role Cards and the

alignment with the IADC knowledge skills and abilities library

While today the activity of creating written questionnaires to test

the Candidates before the oral interview upon selection

Itrsquos not easy especially because there are no previous documents

to be revised This is something completely new But Irsquom confident

that what we are doing today can actually lead to concrete results

in the future

Do you find any advantage in being able to work in a program

with an interdisciplinary team If so which ones

This Project allows me to collaborate especially with the HR

department and understand better the processes which regulate

the Human Resources Management and Development This is a

support for my daily activities when interacting with offshore

personnel

What do you think is the most demanding challenging thing or

aspect of this Program

There are no precedents respect to this type of procedure and

consequently everything must be created from zero

I really appreciate the change Ive been seeing in the last period

We have passed from a selection based on CV screening to a

structured selection that allows to know if the Candidates have

actually acquired and matured the required knowledge This is a

great start

To improve the interactions and the collaboration between

onshore offices and the personnel on-board what do you think

can be improved to achieve the objectives expressed in the CAA

Program

I believe that the familiarization and training which are being

implemented now for the new hires is a great thing considering this

allows them to be more involved and part of the organization and

better understand the Division procedures and values

I would like to thank Alberto for his availability and for his precious

Lets meet the Program Team - Person of the

day Alberto Quintini

By Giulia Miceli HR Development

To continue in the next page

Whats your name

Alberto Quintini born in Lodi on July 17 1975

Where do you work and what do you do

I work in San Donato Milanese and Im part of the

technical office focusing on the electrical and

electronic system of the drilling offshore fleet

| 14

CAA Program

To continue in the next page

| 16

CAA Program

I really appreciate the change Ive been seeing in the last period

We have passed from a selection based on CV screening to a

structured selection that allows to know if the Candidates have

actually acquired and matured the required knowledge This is a

great start

To improve the interactions and the collaboration between

onshore offices and the personnel on-board what do you think

can be improved to achieve the objectives expressed in the CAA

Program

I believe that the familiarization and training which are being

implemented now for the new hires is a great thing considering this

allows them to be more involved and part of the organization and

better understand the Division procedures and values

I would like to thank Alberto for his availability and for his precious

collaboration on the CAA Program

The work and the contribution of everyone allows the success of

any project

Whats your name

Alberto Quintini born in Lodi on July 17 1975

Where do you work and what do you do

I work in San Donato Milanese and Im part of the

electronic system of the drilling offshore fleet

CAA Program

By Giulia Miceli HR Development

Whats your name

Alberto Quintini born in Lodi on July 17 1975

Where do you work and what do you do

I work in San Donato Milanese and Im part of the

technical office focusing on the electrical and

electronic system of the drilling offshore fleet

| 14

CAA Program

The work and the contribution of everyone allows the success of

any project

How long have you been in this Company Tell us more about yourstory

Hello everybody After graduating in economics I started working on

Saipem back in 2008 where I have practically spent my entire

working life I started in the organization department and then

always continue within the HR function in ever-changing areas

Could you introduce us your role in Saipem How would you describea typical day at work in your position especially during these times

Today I am in charge of selection development training and

organization for the Offshore Drilling division I must admit that

personally in this particular moment remote work and the radical

change of everyday life put me in front of a challenge that I had not

foreseen being able to maintain a high level of concentration and

motivation while working looking at the white wall of the room

Objectively I cant wait to have the opportunity to reconnect with my

colleagues in the office and I would almost dare to say that I miss the

taste of the coffee from the vending machine

Whats your name

Alberto Quintini born in Lodi on July 17 1975

Where do you work and what do you do

CAA Program

The work and the contribution of everyone allows the success of
