The internship involves extraction of fatty acids from a few local fish species and profiling of
the acids through FAME with special emphasis on Omega 3-& Omega 6- Fatty Acids present in the
samples. This internship course comprised of laboratory techniques and R&D skills on solvent
extraction (Soxhlet), chromatographic separation, use of high-end analytical instruments like Gas
Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) FAME analysis etc for molecule profiling and an
overall training on good laboratory practices.
Industrial Tour by interns to Ozone Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
Interns of the 10 & 11 batch on Biomolecule Profiling were taken to an Industrial Exposureth th
Tour to Ozone Pharmaceuticals Ltd. a company located in EPIP, Amingaon on 2 July, 2018. Thend
interns got a very informative exposure witnessing the industrial manufacturing processes of Drug
Manufacturing, Quality Control, Product dispensing etc.

The 11 batch of Internship on Basic Techniques on Molecular Biology, Microbiology andth
Imaging was conducted from 16th July–30th July 2018 at GBP. The intern students in the batch
were Mridusmita Deka, of Guwahati College, Guwahati, Simakshi Bormon, Nabanita Sharma,
Priya Mandal, Annyesha Chakraborty and Debarati Paul of Pandu College, Guwahati, Krittika
Gogoi of Duliajan College, Manisha Das, Monoswi Chakraborty, Sushmita Mandal, Tinamoni
Buragohain, Srirupa Gupta Choudhury of Cotton University, Guwahati and Debojit Ghosh of
Rangia College.
The students underwent the internship program under the supervision of Mr Prajjalendra

A exposure visit was conducted for intern students of 9 & 10 batch on basic techniques inth th
molecular biology, microbiology and imaging to Integrated Ornamental Fish Farming Unit and
Biodiversity Center, Dept. of Zoology, Gauhati University on 2 July 2018. The students gotnd
exposure about the native endangered ornamental fish species and their breeding protocols. The
