Mirabelle and her traveling family band, the Veggie Tones, are determined to make
their next gig at Vegetable Square Garden. On their journey, a
erce winter snowstorm hits, and the family
gets stuck at a run-down resort! Mr. Beet, the grumpy
manager makes them sing – and
clean – for their supper. Why is Mr. Beet such a beast? And
can Mirabelle’s kindness change him? Find out in this
hilarious and heartwarming tale of unconditional love!
What made Mr. Beet tough to love?
Every one of us can be tough to love at times. What attitudes or actions make it more difficult for others to enjoy being around us?
Is there anyone who is tough for you to love? What makes it
difficult?
Listen to each other and acknowledge the challenges in those relationships.
Why did Mirabelle want to show love to Mr. Beet, and
how did she do it?
Mirabelle’s reason for loving Mr. Beet was because she knows how much God loves her. Talk about how Mirabelle showed God’s love through her words and actions. Talk about how you can know
God loves you and your family and friends.
Did Mr. Beet change right away, or did it take some time for
Mirabelle’s kindness to soften him?
Mr. Beet acted very grumpy toward Mirabelle at first. He didn’t want music lessons, and he didn’t see any good in himself. But Mirabelle kept believing in him and helped him change.
How did Mr. Beet change? How did those changes help others
and even himself?
Mr. Beet grew kinder and happier, plus he gained confidence as a singer and a hotel owner. He rescued Mirabelle and earned Madame Chalot’s praise.
How can we show God’s love to people who are unkind to us,
even if others don’t understand?
Help each other brainstorm ways to show God’s love to the people in your lives who are tough to love. “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8). Put your plans into action, keep showing kindness and watch what happens!
