Tough Love is an approach designed to help parents struggling to raise a troubled teen.
WHAT TOUGH LOVE IS ALL ABOUT
• Tough Love is an approach to parenting that many parents have found helpful in raising a troubled teen.
• The overall idea behind the tough love approach is for parents to love their troubled teen enough to consistently set firm limits and follow through on appropriate consequences when they are not followed.
oAccording to Jamie Doward, it really works. It matters a lot in developing certain character traits:

DOES PARENTAL TOUGH LOVE REALLY WORK?
It is not a cruelty. It is simply an act to teach the children good moral values.

WHAT FORCE THE PARENTS TO DO THIS?
THE MAIN REASONS ARE:
1. The lazy child
2. The disobedient child
3. The forgetful child
THE LAZY CHILD
Who absolutely hates chores, or work of any kind. This is another instance where the antidote may be that the very thing child is trying to avoid only grows when he/she ignores it.
THE DISOBEDIENT CHILD
A child who persistently breaks the rules you’ve established for him.
THE FORGETFUL CHILD
Who is the chronic forgetter of homework, leaver of lunch boxes, and loser of jackets.
There are different parenting styles which are:
PHYCOLOGY OF PARENTS (PARENTING
STYLE)
THE AUTHORITATIVE PARENTING STYLE Defined by high responsiveness and high firmness, authoritative parents know that raising children requires more than love.
THE AUTHORITARIAN PARENTING STYLEDefined by high firmness but low responsiveness, authoritarian parents set clear boundaries for their children, & require that they accept rules of conduct without question.
THE PERMISSIVE PARENTING STYLE
Defined by high responsiveness and low firmness, permissive parents have lots of love and support to give.
THE UNINVOLVED PARENTING STYLEUninvolved parents are neither firm nor responsive. They do not offer a great deal of support to their children, and often fail to supervise their behavior.

DOES IT IS DUE TO THE ECONOMIC CONDITIONS?
• The research found that it was the style of parenting, rather than income or social background that developed the strength of character.
