Admiration Oil

To make an oil that will help attract the attention of others, mix together twenty drops ofsynthetic musk, two drops of jasmine, and one drop of ylang ylang in a small bottle andleave where the full moonlight can strike it for three nights. Be sure to bring it insidebefore the Sun can find it.

Meanwhile, leave a rose petal, a small piece of crystal quartz, and 1/8teaspoon ofpowdered cinnamon in a place where the Sun can see them, making sure to move thembefore moonlight can strike them. On the fourth day, mix together the two sets ofingredients and leave in a dark place. Wear when you wish to draw love and admirationto yourself. It will also enable your employers to see what they love about your work forthem.

Air Oil (Elemental)

5 drops Lavender3 drops Sandalwood1 drop Neroli

Wear to invoke the powers of Air and to promote clear thinking, for travel spells, and toovercome addictions.

Altar Oil

4 ml Frankincense2 ml Myrrh1 ml Cedar

Anoint the altar with this oil at regular intervals, calling your Deity (Deities) to watchover it. Mix with 4 oz base oil. Recipe is for a year of 13 Full moon phases, keep theblessing oil in tightly capped dark glass bottle.

Athena Oil

The olive is sacred to Athena, so use pure olive oil as an anointing oil in particular, rubbetween the palms of your hands and anoint your feet, forehead and lips.

Blend the first four ingredients well, at the full moon, and add the olives. Put in a jar andleave for one month to mature. Then remove the olives (Which will have imparted theiressence to the rest) and throw them away.

Stuffed olives, both black and green, are an obvious food for a ritual of Athena, alsostuffed vine leaves, a very Athenian dish. If possible, of course, the wine should be Greek- especially retsina, though that is an acquired taste.

Anointing Oil #1

Anointing Oil #3

Add to 4 oz. carrier oil. Add a tiny Amethyst crystal to the bottle Used to bless candlesbefore a ritual. Working outwards, coat the entire candle with oil from the middle toeach end, while visualizing your magical intent. For purification & cleansing, use to wipedown your altar or ritual area. (Spellwork- use on candles; add to incense; inpurification bath water).

Anointing Oil #4

3 drops Patchouli2 drops Cinnamon1 drops Verbena

Add to 2 oz. carrier oil.

Anointing Oil #5

Take a glazed pan half full of grease or olive oil. Put in sweet mint leaves bruised (orwhatever you like).

Place pan in hot water bath. Stir occasionally. After four or five hours pour into linenbag and squeeze grease through into pot again and fill with fresh leaves. Some peopleeven use coffee filters or paper towels in a pasta strainer to filter. Repeat until grease isstrongly scented.

Do same with marjoram, thyme and pounded dried patchouli leaves. When stronglyscented, mix all the greases together and keep in a well sealed jar.

Anointing Oil for Candles

1 cup rose petals1 cup violets 1 cup water 1 cup olive oil 1 tbsp clove oil2 teaspoons powdered cinnamon1 tablespoon powdered myrrh1/4 cup wild fennel seeds

Gather rose petals and violets at sunrise. Place them in a clean ceramic crock.Cover with water (fresh rain water, preferably) and let crock sit in a sunny location forthree days until an oily film (the essential oil of the flowers) is seen floating on top of thewater.Remove oil from water by carefully absorbing it into a small cotton ball.

Anointing Oil for Candles (continued)

Squeeze out oil into a clean, long-necked glass bottle. Add olive and clove oils, and swirlgently in a clockwise direction to slowly agitate oils. Next, add cinnamon, myrrh, andfennel seeds.

Seal bottle tightly and store it in a dark, cool place.

After four weeks, strain through cheesecloth and use to anoint candles.

Anointing Oil for Candles #2

Blessing Oil #3

Choose a small dark vial. Place all but the oil in the vial together, then add enough oil tofill the bottle.

Shake thoroughly. Use for anointing ritual candles, self, consecrating tools, etc.

Lavender is there for purification, happiness, love, and peace; Basil brings protectionand love; Sage brings purification, protection, healing, wealth, longevity; Patchoulibrings prosperity, wards off evil and negativity, aids divination.

All of these are desirable generic attributes so makes a good blend for general purposes.Great for keeping on your personal altar for magical workings.

Calendula oil usually has to be made yourself, unless you pay an arm and leg for it.It is very easy to make:

Steep Calendula (marigold) petals in sweet almond oil over very low heat for a long time.The long the better, but be careful not to burn it. It should smell like toast sort of.It is a pleasant aroma. If you want it to be stronger, then strain the oil off and add itback to the pan with more Calendula petals.

Flying Oil to Assist in Astral Journeys (read caution below)

1 cup pure beeswax2/3 cup of jojoba oil mixed with 1/4 cup of wheat germ oil9 drops of the pure essential oil of juniper berry9 drops of the pure essential oil of bog myrtle9 drops of the pure essential oil of sandalwood9 drops of the pure essential oil of yarrow9mL total of a combination of the pure essential oils of chamomile, rose otto, jasmine3 grams of poppy petals *do not crush or they won't strain*3 grams of hops *do not crush or they won't strain*3 grams of wormwood *do not crush or they won't strain*3 grams of dittany of Crete *do not crush or they won't strain*3 grams of passionflower *do not crush or they won't strain*3 grams of skullcap *do not crush or they won't strain*3 grams of lavender *do not crush or they won't strain*

In a glass double boiler (a pot used in making candles to melt the beeswax at a lowertemperature and prevent wax fires) - do not use metal, melt the beeswax gently using aslow a heat as possible. Once the beeswax has melted, mix in half of the jojoba/wheatgerm oil combination until it is smooth.

Once the mix is smooth (you have just made the base) then add your herbs to thismixture.

Once added, keep at as low a temperature as possible, stirring constantly with a woodenspoon putting your magical intention into the mixture so as to charge it (or a very cleanstick which you sanded and created just for this purpose. Doing this increases themagical intent of the mixture and so helps give it a boost).

After 33 min, ensure that the beeswax is quite liquid and use a mesh strainer you don'tintend to use again to strain out the herbs from the mixture of beeswax and jojoba oiland place the mix back into the glass double boiler. Don't worry if you still have someherb in it however the herb will decay and so this shortens the life of your mix. By thistime, if you have kept your mixture at a constant low temperature, you should noticethat it has a slightly different consistency from cooling.

Now combine the remaining jojoba oil and the wheat germ oil with the mixture theflower based essential oils (jasmine, rose, etc) in a separate container. Before thebeeswax and jojoba oil mix begins to harden and without adding more heat, add first thepure essential oils (bog myrtle, juniper berry, etc) then the essential oils and base oilsmix .

This needs to be done when the mixture is as cool as possible but still fluid as essentialoils are volatile and lose potency when heated to too high a temperature.

Flying Oil, continued

Now that you have finished you can pour your mix into glass, heatproof jars (as it willstill be warm) and let it cool. Cap only after it has cooled and store in a cool, dark place. Isuggest storing it in the fridge with the jar tightly capped to avoid moisture getting in.Use within a month --- this mixture is not suitable for long term storage but can lastunder perfect conditions for 2 - 3 months.

This ointment is potent. Use it carefully and treat it with respect as you should all herbsand essential oils. Just because they are herbs, doesn't mean they are safe. To use, applyfirst a small amount to the inside of your elbow to check for reactions. Then if it is safe,apply a small amount in a thin coating to the inside of your wrist and a small amount toyour temples.

For faster absorption, spread a thin coating on the soles of your feet. While books whichtalk about flying ointments suggest smearing it all over your body, I do not recommendthis approach.

Keep this mix away from your eyes nose, mouth and other sensitive areas of your body.Contrary to what you may have read on the web, this should *not* be placed in thegenital area of the body. Do *not* ingest this mixture as this mixture contains oils withcontraindications.

I suggest that you avoid using this mix if you: are pregnant, have high blood pressure,have a history of mental illness, or if you are suffering from prolonged insomnia.

Alternate base combinations - these vary in room temperature state from quite solid toquite liquid.

You can vary the firmness of the mixture you need by altering the amount of beeswax oroil used - more beeswax for a firmer mix, more oil or a softer mix.

Recipes for bases are guidelines only and after adding herbs or oils, you may feel theneed to adjust the firmness. I suggest placing a teaspoon of the mix in the freezer tocheck for firmness before adding more wax or oil. There is no need for tincture ofbenzoin as is so popular with some recipes as this tincture is used for mixturescontaining a shortening or fatty base where the fat is solid at room temperature.

Full Moon Oil

Mix prior to a full moon. Charge in a clear container or vial in the lightof the full moon. Use to anoint candles or yourself for full moon ritualsor just when you feel like you need the moons energy.

Handfasting Oil

This oil can be worn by any couple regardless of their marital status. It is one of the fewmagical oils which includes a dried herb mixed in with the essences. This is often givento Witch couple on the evening of their Handfasting.

On a Friday evening when the Moon is waxing gather a little orris root, an earthen bowland a quantity of pure olive oil. If you are a woman also have a vial of jasmine oil;patchouli will do for. Lay a pink cloth on the altar. Light pink candles. Pour the orrisroot into the earthen bowl, then add about half a cup of olive oil. Stir with the forefingerof your strong hand seven times clockwise. Now add the essential oil, no less than threedrops, no more than seven. Place the bowl on the altar. Gaze into it, infusing the oil withyour desire for love.

Enchant it by saying:

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love.

Simple and to the point, right? You might want to substitute a favorite love poem orsonnet. Pour the oil into a jar and cork it tightly. Leave in a dark place, surrounded bythe pink altar cloth, for 7 days. Upon the next Friday night uncork the bottle, strain andthen store in the same bottle until needed. Pour your base oil into your pot and put it on the stove on low heat.

Crush the garlic with the flat side of a knife. Remove the skin. Put the garlic clove intothe pot of oil.

Draw the symbol of the pentagram, a powerful ancient symbol of protection, on each ofthe bay leaves using a fine tip felt pen. Place them into the pot.Add one tbsp. of castor oil and 1 tsp. of kosher salt to the mixture.Stir the oil mixture clockwise with a wooden spoon. Do not allow the oil to simmer orboil; just heat it for approximately 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Take the mixture off of the heat and allow it to cool. Strain it through a strainer, or twolayers of cheese cloth, into a container. It can be stored for up to 6 weeks in a cool, darkplace.
