Bass fishing has been receiving all of the attention this week. Great catches of bass are being reported by anglers all around the North end of the ;lake. Clear water and falling water tem-peratures have the bass feeding for longer periods, which relates to longer pe-riods of catching fish. The shiner fishing bite is great with big bass showing up in our catches daily. Artificial baits are working as well or better for sheer numbers of fish. Top water baits, spin-ner baits, flukes, and other soft plastics will all result in strikes for patient anglers. The fish are ganged up in certain areas and you may go for a few hundred yards before catching a bunch of fish in one small stretch.

The area of the lake around Taylor Creek moving South down toward J&S is yield-ing large numbers both on the outside grass lines and further inside in the marsh ar-eas. The “Pass” area is load-ed with small fish which are very aggressive and eagerly strike almost any lure. Look for schooling action early in the day and try different baits until you find what they want, several days this week they were eating about any lure we put in front of them.

Speck f ishermen are starting to show up in the Kissimmee River and are pretty quiet about the re-sults. Anglers traveling up the river around the wier will have better results.
