Notice of the meeting was filed with the Secretary of State’s Office on December 10, 2015.
Notice/agenda was posted outside the meeting room at the Reed Conference Center, 5800 Will Rogers
Road, Midwest City, Oklahoma, and on the Oklahoma Board of Nursing website. A notice/agenda
was also posted on the Cameron Building front entrance at 2915 N. Classen Blvd., Oklahoma City,
as well as the Board office, 2915 N. Classen Blvd., Suite 524, on July 18, 2016, at 12:00 PM, and not
less than 24 hours prior to the meeting.

The agency currently has 28 FTEs. Jenny Barnhouse has been hired as the Peer Assistance Program
Coordinator effective July 1. The role will be dually filled per the succession plan until Laura
Clarkson’s retirement October 1. Filling vacant positions for the Peer Assistance Program Case
Manager and Receptionist position are in process.
K. Glazier reported there were no meetings with members of the Oklahoma Legislature since the last
meeting of the Board.
K. Glazier reported there were no meetings with members of the Oklahoma Executive Branch since
the last meeting of the Board.
The legislative rules approval process was discussed and K. Glazier informed the Board approval
came via Governor’s Declaration as opposed to legislative approval. The permanent rules will be
printed in The Oklahoma Register on August 15 and will become effective August 25. The majority
of the rule revisions relate to nursing education. K. Glazier reviewed with the Board Interim Studies
the agency will track.
K. Glazier reported the nursing shortage was the focal point at the Tulsa Nursing Summit attended by
K. Glazier, J. Ward, T. Walker, L. Korvick, and J. Martin on July 11. The topic of the presentation by
Director Glazier included the current nurse population data, and Board Member Korvick’s
presentation topic was the state of nursing education.
The bid award for calendar year 2017-2019 meeting space for regular Board meetings has been
awarded to the Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown, 1 North Broadway Avenue, 2nd Floor Ballroom,
Oklahoma City.
