Technology used

The success of Waste to Energy plants depends on several

parameters like the characteristics of the waste and theadopted technology

Principles andadvantages:

- Reverse regime

- Sufficient mixing awaste

- Mixing ofderivative fuel

- High temperatureresistant metal

- up to 40% energyefficiency

Risk distribution and management

Associated risks:

The realization costs can exceed the anticipated budgetThe realization time can exceed the anticipated scheduleThe O&M costs might exceed the ones that have beenassumedThe performances might not be at the expected levelThe quality of the equipment or the O&M performances mightcause lack of availabilityThe quantity or the quality of the wastes might not be asexpected

The project risks should be allocated to the parties who arethe most suitable to face and to manage them and this througha proper and fair contractual structure

The appropriate risks allocation with the relevant contractualconditions are essential for reducing the total costs and for anefficient delivery
