This saying is trust-worthy and deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. St. Paul preached this message with confi-dence because he him-self had encountered the grace of God’s forgiveness in Jesus. This is our message to the world, and all we say and do should reflect the mercy and goodness of God and how important Jesus Christ and his Gospel are to us. The friars who founded this mission in 1804 were trying to do just that: share the message of God’s mercy. We thank God for all the people who

in these 215 years have prayed in this church of Santa Inés and tried to live the good news de-spite human weakness and misunderstandings. We are all brothers and sisters. Today once

more we try to live as one family.

Please join us for our Founding Day Mass this Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Thank you for all who are working so hard to make this a prayerful moment in the life of our parish community. May God watch over you all!

As members of the Catholic community, each of us can contribute to the healing of those harmed by abuse, especially by remem-bering victim-survivors in our prayers. We pray for those harmed by some-one, whether in church, family, school or community, confident that healing is possible, and mindful that we can all work to prevent further abuse. Inspired by the vision of a victim-survivor, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles has created a prayer and information card as a tangible symbol of outreach and support to those in need. Please join in this effort and our shared hope that the resources and prayer on the card will reach those in need to bring the healing light of Christ to the darkest places of pain. The bilingual prayer card and multilingual posters, including information on how to report abuse, have been distributed to all parishes and are available for download at protect.la-archdiocese.org..

Oramos por las personas perjudicadas por alguien, ya sea en la iglesia, la familia, la escuela o la comunidad, confiando en que la sanación es posible y conscientes de que todos podemos trabajar para prevenir el abuso. La Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles, inspirada en la visión de una víctima-sobreviviente, ha creado una tarjeta de oración e información como un símbolo tangible y accesible para la comunidad y como apoyo para los necesitados. Los frailes que funda-ros nuestra misión en 1804 quería trasmitir la misma verdad, y por 215

años muchas perso-nas han buscado la misma fe adentro de nuestro templo bajo la protección de nuestra patrona, Santa Inés. Todos somos hermanos, y el reto es vivir como hermanos.
