UNDERSTANDING AGRICULTURAL RESPIRATORY HAZARDS AND RESPIRATOR SELECTION Grain Bin Safety Week February 16-22, 2020 On-Demand Grain Safety Trainings RESPIRATORY PROTECTION PROGRAM CONFINED SPACE GRAIN BIN ENTRY The Grain Safety program is intended for workers and managers in the grain industry. This includes grain elevators, farm operators and workers, grain haulers, and agriculture business owners. The major focus of the program is on safety in confined space work areas including entry, respiratory protection, and prevention of grain dust explosions. space entry and lock out procedures. The OSHA respiratory standard requires a written respiratory protection program for situations in which PELs of airborne contaminants could be exceeded or when the employer requires use of respirators by workers. Training will assist agriculture based employers who require respirator use to comply with the OSHA respiratory protection program standard. The goal of the training is to inform agricultural producers and employers of agricultural workers about agricultural respiratory exposures and diseases that are common in the agricultural environment.The course will cover respiratory hazards associated with agricultural exposure with an emphasis on selecting the correct respirator. * Click titles for access. AgriSafe will address the issue and importance of respiratory personal protective equipment for women.
